Beer City Cup 2019
Calling all soccer lovers. Beer City Cup Adult Soccer Tournament is in need of volunteers. Proceeds benefit the Buncombe County Special Olympics. Volunteers are needed to pour beer at the beer tents.

The Outback Give Back Promotion runs August 1st – August 29th. Donors who give blood at any TBC center on any Thursday will receive a $20 Outback gift card and a free Bloomin’ Onion ® coupon. To find a center near you, click here.
On August 29th, 18 Outback Steakhouse locations will host a blood mobile for a collective blood drive at the same time, 2-7 P.M. Blood donors will receive a $20 Outback gift card and a free Bloomin’ Onion® coupon. After donating, they can walk right in and enjoy a free dinner at Outback, a thank you for saving lives!

Ensuring equity in education is truly a social justice issue. In addition to the shocking national and local literacy statistics, one of our greatest concerns is the growing disparity in achievement in local schools. We are committed to training as many new tutors as possible this fall so they can each keep a child from becoming one of these statistics.

Registration is now open for the next session of indoor youth tennis classes starting September 3rd at Hendersonville Racquet Club. Kids are put in groups based on age and ability with seven levels available. The session is six weeks long and is $79 for members or $99 for non-members for one class a week or $129/$149 for two classes a week plus a play day at the end of the session. Each player also gets a half hour one-on-one session with one of our certified pros.
The format for this session is having classes once or twice a week for six weeks. Then the session concludes with a fun L6 Play Day where they can get match experience. All classes are taught by certified tennis professionals and will be held on HRC’s outdoor or indoor courts.

The Chamber Classic Golf Tournament is a fun opportunity for members of the business community to network, connect with colleagues, and enjoy a beautiful day out of the office. This Captain’s Choice tournament begins with a shotgun start at 8:00 am and again at 2:00 pm. Sponsors will host fun contests at several holes, with prizes offered for players. Entry fee includes breakfast provided by Bojangles of WNC before the morning flight, and all participants are invited to enjoy a healthy lunch provided by Arby’s. Two beverage stations will be set up on the course, with beer provided by Highland Brewing Company and soft drinks from Pepsi-Cola. Hole 14 on the course features a hole-in-one contest, and some lucky golfer may win a brand new car, compliments of Asheville Ford Lincoln! . No pre-registration is required to attend. Homework Diners currently take place at four area middle schools: Asheville, Enka, Erwin and Owen Middle. All are open to any family with a K-12 student in the surrounding school district with an adult family member in attendance with the participating student.

This urban scavenger hunt will take teams of four around the downtown area via a series of clues to sixteen different locations where they will be required to complete a task before receiving their next clue. Two volunteers will staff each secret location, checking teams in and out, throughout the day.
