The vision behind this event is to plant seeds of planetary healing through accessible ecological education.
This will be a day-long *free* community event to learn about topics such as: Plant Walk + Planetary Permaculture:
Chad Ananda from Four Elements Learning Community + Appalachian Folk Medicine: Rebecca Beyer !!!
Eco-psychologists (and many others) believe that the root of our environmental / climate / psychological crisis is our deep loss of authentic relationships to “nature” or the ecological communities that sustain us. While this relationship cannot be reclaimed in a day, this event can provide a glimpse into tangible ways we can begin to cultivate + embody this relationship.
Details about these amazing teachers will be shared soon.
~ Stay tuned ~
Envisioned schedule (will become more solidified closer to April):
11-1: Plant Walk + Planetary Permaculture with Chad Ananda
1-1:45: break / food share
2-4: Appalachian Folk medicine with Rebecca Beyer
Beyond: TBA

Join Forward Justice in partnership with All of Us or None-NC and Spirithouse for part three of our five-part Statewide Community Conversation series, bringing together justice-involved individuals, their families, and community advocates to discuss and publicly testify to the harms of mass incarceration. Since 2011, there is a minimum of $195 million in savings from the reduction of the prison population in North Carolina.
North Carolina has “reinvested” about $30 million of it into support for individuals returning home to their communities – mostly in the form of probation and parole staff. There has been no public discussion about how the remaining $165 million should be used to address the far-reaching impacts of mass incarceration on formerly incarcerated people and their communities. This partnership seeks to move the conversation on ending mass incarceration towards grappling with the harms unleashed by mass incarceration.
To do this we will hold community conversations to identify, discuss, and advocate for social and public services to further build and strengthen our communities. The community conversation is a great opportunity to learn how the criminal (in)justice system impacts our lives, but also envision what we need for healthy and whole communities.
We encourage all to participate in this family-friendly event featuring…
Free Food
Free T-Shirts
Guest DJ
Raffle for gift cards
Resource Table
and more!
