We have been working hard to establish Emergency Safety Guidelines in order to safely operate during the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s important for all to remember that we are able to be open because we are an open-air grocery store, not a social gathering.

In order to best serve all of our vendors during this time, we have established a pre-sale and pick-up option so you’re still able to purchase items from vendors you love while having as little contact as possible at the market. WORDplay© is a twelve month slam poetry competition featuring Spoken Word Poets from all over Western North Carolina. Each month ten to twelve Poets will be selected via video submissions, for the chance to compete for Different Strokes Performing Arts Collective’s WORDplay© championship and a $1,000.00 cash prize. The monthly online competition, hosted by local Poets Barbie Angell and Shanita Jackson, is open to regional Poets who are at least 15 years of age. One Poet from each month’s competition will be selected to compete in front of a live audience in the October and November 2021 Semi-Finals. Two remaining Poets will vie for the WORDplay© championship in December 2021. The second place Poet will receive $500.00. Each Semi-Finalist will receive $100.00.
We are accepting submissions for January and February rounds now through November 23, 2020. Selected Poets will be notified by December 23, 2020.
Emergency Action Plan (EAP) / COVID-19

No token sales at this time. Unfortunately, this means no EBT sales. Please understand that this is in the best interest of safety to our staff.

No vendors are allowed to sample at this time.

Face masks are not required, however, all staff & vendors of the RAD Farmers Market are required to wear face masks during operating hours.

All vendors have hand sanitizer at their booths, & sanitize their hands between customers & transactions.

Please allow the vendor to select your produce for you.

Pre-orders are appreciated, as always, however, all vendors also bring goods for sale at market.

We love your dogs, but also appreciate if you can leave them home for your safety. It’s hard not to pet the pups, but it’s hard to social distance and do that!

If you do bring cash, please bring smaller bills so that you will have an easier time with the exact change policy most vendors have at this time.

Be understanding! We miss spoiling you so much!
Teen – (grades 6-12)
Join us and Bingeable Trivia every Wednesday at 7pm for outdoor trivia night!!
-All trivia players must have a seat outside to play. There are a limited amount of tables outside so get here early to claim your seat
-Tables are spread out 6 feet apart for social distancing
-Players will text in their answers instead of turning in sheets
-And masks are required while ordering beers inside
We will have a theme every other week! Trivia is subject to cancellation depending on the weather.
A weekly space for writing in community while practicing social distancing. Join online every Wednesday night in April to increase accountability as it relates to your writing practice, whatever that may be.
We’ll come together once a week to connect and engage in the active writing process. Each session will start by sharing intentions, followed by an agreed upon period of time for silent writing, and wrap with reflections about process and plan for the following week. Casual and seasoned writers alike welcome!

We’re flipping the script on trick or treating this year! Guess Who: A Costume Quest is an outdoor walking tour and interactive game that features costumed actors from past ACT plays and musicals. Guess who’s who, and after you do, there’s a take-home bag of candy and treats for you! This family-friendly night of fun will be held in the parking lots and surrounding grounds of Asheville Community Theatre and the Thomas Wolfe House. Tours will begin at 6:00 pm and start times will be staggered to maintain social distancing. How will this work? Chanda Calentine explains: “You’ll walk on a path around our building and will encounter 12 different characters along the way. They’ll each share a clue or two about themselves, and you’ll try to guess who they are and which show they’re from. These are recognizable characters from our family friendly shows, and even if you haven’t seen these shows at ACT, we think you’ll still be able to make a good guess! And, at the end of the tour, we’ll have treats for you to take home. |
