At Hopscotch, their mission is to transform rural health in America through advanced primary care for Medicare patients. To make this happen, they knew they were going to have to build something that did not already exist: a company built with purpose and mission, that leverages the strength of communities they seek to serve, combined with incredible skill and expertise around operations and technology to enable better things for patients, caregivers, clinicians, and communities.

Literacy Together (formerly Literacy Council of Buncombe County) hosts two monthly orientation meetings. Everyone is welcome to join us, from community members willing to learn more about Literacy Together’s work to prospective volunteer tutors.

We have a determined group of students waiting for volunteer tutors so they can move forward on their goals for a better future. Tutor training is via distance learning, and all tutoring sessions are online. We have programs teaching English to immigrants, adult literacy for folks working on a GED, and youth literacy for kids struggling to learn to read.

Mojo Coworking is hosting another coworking day just for us!
In the Mojo Social Hall, they’ll have a combination of individual desks and group work tables for up to 50 people. Grab a single desk by the window, or share a round table with friends for the day. Upstairs, phone booths will be available on a drop-in basis, and a conference room by reservation.

Snacks will be provided by…all of us! It’s the return of the snack potluck — if you’re up for it, bring something easy to share with the group.

Lilac Health Asheville Birth and Wellnes Center has been thoughtfully designed to create a warm and welcoming environment for expecting families. Our center features state-of-the-art birthing suites, each with a private bathroom and comfortable furnishings. Our staff of experienced midwives and birth assistants will provide personalized care throughout the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey.

During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, we will celebrate the opening of this wonderful facility and welcome everyone to tour the center, to take a closer look at our beautiful birthing suites, learn about our services, and meet our team. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask any questions and enjoy light refreshments.

Whether you are expecting or simply interested in learning more about our Birth Center, all is welcome to join us for this special occasion. We are excited to share this new chapter with our community and look forward to seeing you there!

Celebrate the women in your life with women-centric networking. Athena of Henderson County presents this unique and informal networking opportunity designed to inspire and connect women. No entrance fee – just bring your business cards and enjoy expanding your network! Join us this month at the Henderson County EMS Center with host, Kathy Morgan, 2021 Athena Recipient and first female Henderson County Rescue Squad Chief. Volunteers will help remove Canada Blackberry (Rubus canadensis) and other woody vegetation from Round Bald to help maintain globally rare, grassy habitat. This is a great chance to learn about what SAHC does to manage these rare habitats, without the commitment of a long hike in. In general, we will be working within less than a 0.5 mile from the parking area. We encourage anyone who is new to conservation or to the Roan to join us for this event.

He is known for helping employers resolve workplace conflicts and avoid litigation and for providing a vigorous defense when litigation occurs.

Volunteer with United Way to Stuff Backpacks for School Supply Drive I’m excited to share with you today an Alexis de Tocqueville Society volunteer event that is just around the corner! We know that all too many students arrive on the first day of a new school year with the desire to learn but without all the necessary school supplies needed. UWABC is coordinating with local nonprofits, who directly work with Buncombe County students, to gauge the need of our students. We aim to provide 2,350 backpacks to grade school children across Buncombe County, and we need the Tocqueville Society’s help in stuffing backpacks. Come on out and volunteer with fellow Alexis de Tocqueville Society members on August 1st!
