There is so much going on in the world of online communication and storytelling these days. In the digital realm, visual messages are interpreted, shared, manipulated, responded to, and re-shared with lightening-fast speed. A simple image with a few carefully-chosen words can speak volumes about the human experience.
Join Erez Kaganovitz, creator of Humans of Tel Aviv, and the Asheville JCC for an online workshop covering the art of digital storytelling. Participants in Humans of the Asheville J will examine the use of photographic composition, lighting, and color in combination with text to tell the personal story of life during this important time in world history.
Humans of Tel Aviv, a photo-documentary project initiated in the spring of 2012, and with a monthly reach of 500,000 online viewers, gives daily glimpses of the lives of strangers living in Tel Aviv. Through the Humans of the Asheville J online workshop, Kaganovitz will introduce participants to the elements of digital design and talk about his experience documenting life in Israel.
This 45 minute class will be live streamed from Israel by Erez Kaganovitz with a question and answer session following the workshop.
After the workshop, participants will be invited to include their work in a portfolio presented online as the Humans of the Asheville J Project.
