Asheville-based musician Mike Martinez is the April Spark the Arts NC Artist in Residence at LEAF Global Arts. He will give a FREE performance — kicking off with a community conversation — on Monday, April 29, at 6:30 p.m.
“Mad Mike” is one of the announcers at local NPR station BPR and is also known locally and in pockets around the country as a songwriter, MC, DJ, and frontman for his bands Natural Born Leaders and Beekeepers. In the wake of NBL’s hiatus, Mike branched out with Anti-Virus, an EP of solo material, and is set to release a new EP in the summer of 2024. Mike makes art pertinent to the times and aligns himself with musical collaborators. He is dedicated to learning, growing, and delivering the truth to the masses.
