Join your host Kristin Hillegas, for a one-hour Serenity Sound Bath and experience a deeply immersive, full-body sound and vibrational experience. A sound bath can cleanse your soul, restore your balance, surround you with peace and tranquility and stimulate healing.

Note: Please bring a yoga mat/pillow/blanket since you will be lying on the floor. Wear warm, comfortable, and flexible clothing.

The Sound Bath will take place upstairs in the Education Building. Choose your space starting at 12:45 PM, doors close promptly at 1:00 PM.

This service is being offered on a sliding scale of $10-20.

Accessible parking is available in the Center for Spiritual Living Asheville upper parking lot. The entrance to the upper parking lot is off of S. Bear Creek Rd between Science of Mind Way and Sand Hill Rd.

Our musical journey continues with Ludwig van Beethoven’s Serenade in D Major, Op. 25 for Flute, Violin, and Viola, combining elegance and grace with playful rhythms. Its delightful melodies and intricate interactions between instruments showcase Beethoven’s mastery in this unique ensemble. Flutist Brandon Patrick George joins the Jasper String Quartet for Zhou Tian’s Viaje, a thrilling work combining the composer’s musical roots as a Chinese-American with his love of Spanish music. Antonín Dvořák’s String Quartet No. 10 in E-flat Major, Op. 51 combines lyrical beauty and rhythmic energy, drawing on Czech folk traditions to create a deeply expressive and engaging finale to the program.

Jason Isbell record always lands like a decoder ring in the ears and hearts of his audience, a soundtrack to his world and magically to theirs, too. Weathervanes carries the same revelatory power. This is a storyteller at the peak of his craft, observing his fellow wanderers, looking inside and trying to understand, reducing a universe to four minutes. He shrinks life small enough to name the fear and then strip it away, helping his listeners make sense of how two plus two stops equaling four once you reach a certain age — and carry a certain amount of scars.

This powerful new work transforms real stories of kindness and perseverance in the wake of Hurricane Helene into breathtaking movement, music, and design. Terpsicorps, now in its 22nd season, features world-class dancers who will bring to life the true stories of local heroes, nominated by their communities. Their acts of kindness and courage shape the choreography, making Appalachian Phoenix a deeply personal and meaningful experience. Around 15,000 water bottles collected from the storm’s debris will be utilized to create a remarkable translucent backdrop that will frame the choreography and reflect abstracted images of WNC projected onto its surface. The original score was created by composer Jeff Schmitt, along with River Guerguerian and Chris Rosser, of Free Planet Radio. It blends the past and present into a dynamic, inspiring, and evocative composition. The score fuses old-time, bluegrass, Afro-Appalachian folk, hip-hop, funk, blues-rock, and Latin rhythms. Collectively, they’ve performed at venues ranging from Carnegie Hall to MerleFest, and the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

Asheville Junction plays a bluegrass/Americana show at Jack of the Wood this Friday, July 25th, 8:30 pm – 11:30 pm. Hot fiddlin’ and harmonies, smooth vocals, great banjo & mandolin pickin’. In 2025 Shindig on the Green, which features a stage show and informal jam sessions around the park, continues at its original location — formerly known as City County Plaza, now transformed into the new Pack Square Park. Don’t miss the CMS Carolinas début of the nationally acclaimed period instrument ensemble Les Délices, performing an innovative and thoughtful program celebrating Bohemian composers from the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Bohemian Rhapsody celebrates the music of Bohemian composers from the late 18th and early 19th centuries – a time when the Czech lands were provinces of the Habsburg Empire. Rarely-heard chamber music by Czech and Moravian composers Franz Krommer, Georg Druschetzky, and Katerina Victoria Dusikova-Cianchettin will illuminate a little-known history that explores underlying themes of separation, nostalgia, and homecoming. Also featured is a recently commissioned arrangement of Czech and Moravian folk songs by New York City-based composer and harpsichordist Nathan Mondry that asks, what might it have sounded like if these late-18th and early-19th century composers from the Czech lands had been able to more openly celebrate their heritage in their music? These fun and fascinating works for oboe, violin, viola, and cello are paired with Mozart’s sublime oboe quartet, KV370.
