Jus’ Running’s Turkey Trot 5K is back for another year of Thanksgiving fun!The annual race starts at 9:15AM on Thanksgiving day in Pack Square Park, so there is plenty of time to finish the trot and get back in time to get your turkey in the oven.Proceeds from the race will be donated to MANNA FoodBank, so that families throughout WNC can have food in their homes.The 21st Annual Asheville Turkey Trot 5K and Gobble Wobble 1 Mile Fun Run presented by Jus’ Running is Thanksgiving Day- Thursday, November 25, 2021. Portions of the proceeds will be donated to MANNA Food Bank. Race day packet pick up will be at Pack Square Park. The race starts on Woodfin St in front of the Downtown YMCA and finishes at Pack Square Park. Please note, due to restrictions NO DOG/PETS are allowed. Also, no strollers or wheeled vehicles. The course is not completely closed so this is for safety purposes. Race timing will be provided by Right on Time Productions. We’re transforming our showroom’s home theater into a dance floor with DJ MadSci aka Tommy Calloway, our President/CEO. We’ll have drinks and snacks on hand, and proceeds from tickets and donations will go to Save Our Stages, with our fundraising goal in 2021 to be to pay one month of rent for Asheville’s music venues. Tickets are $25 and limited to 30 people. Come celebrate 2021 with us and share some holiday cheer to kick off December! Need a space for your small business’s holiday party? Worms are the best! Come learn how they can make your garden the best it has ever been, AND learn how food waste and composting have an impact on climate change.
Here’s the details:
On Sunday December 5th 2021 from 2-3:30 Bountiful Cities will hold a FREE Worm Compost Workshop (Vermiculture) at their Pearson Garden in Montford
This is being done in conjunction with World Soil Day!
There will be a hands on project (perfect for kids) building small worm compost systems to take home.
There will be a demonstration of a worm tower and info. about vermiculture.
The Hop Ice Cream will be making a Bountiful Cities Signature flavor using sweet potatoes grown in our Herring Elementary school garden to help promote the event.
We will supply yummy refreshments (chocolate “soil” cake with gummy worms!) and hot beverages to keep folks warm and cozy.If you plan to attend please contact us by email: [email protected], [email protected] or [email protected]. Also, please let us know if you’ll be attending and will need language interpretation and/or childcare.
This workshop is being presented in conjunction with the City of Asheville.

After the Winter Wonder Walk Trail, a warm cozy festival tents welcomes you back to Mrs. Clause’s Kitchen with Cookies For A Clause, kids activities, a stocking stuffer market with local vendors, and concessions.
