The classical ideals of truth have eroded under the weight of centuries of contradiction. The duality of “what is” and “what is not” can no longer substantiate our beliefs of truth. The uncertainty of quantum physics bleeds into our lives as we find facts inadequate to explain our modern being. Thus, we turn inward to the self and find that subjectivity is truth and it is infinite.
Truth Decay, a New England DIPA, releases on August 17th in limited edition cans featuring the awe-inspiring art of Maxx Hawthorn-feist. With utmost certainty, we can say that this is not a beer to miss out on.

Grovewood Village is housed in the historic weaving and woodworking complex of Biltmore Industries, a noteworthy enterprise in the history of American Craft and textiles, founded by Edith Vanderbilt and two inspired teachers, Eleanor Vance and Charlotte Yale. At the height of its success in the late 1920s, Biltmore Industries had a total of 40 looms in steady operation, producing bolts of some of the finest handwoven wool fabric in the country. Orders were shipped as far as China and Uruguay, and customers included the likes of Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Helen Keller, and several U.S. presidents and first ladies.

Robin Lewis Music:
Singer-songwriter Robin Lewis has a voice that has been described as intoxicating and warm. She recently relocated from Fort Collins, CO to Asheville, NC. She has strong soul and jazz influences from her childhood, however, the allure of poetic language, story telling, and simplicity led her to folk music. The combination of soulful vocals and simple guitar fingerpicking create a soothing sound. She received an honorable mention in the Telluride Bluegrass Festival Troubadour competition, along with songwriters from all over the nation. Robin has played at The Mishawaka, The Aggie Theatre and many other venues.

“Earthwork” is a word used to describe a constructed bank of dirt, often raised in ancient cultures as a means of defense. Earth Works is a book of essays and rituals for a time of deep cultural change, a shift that author Byron Ballard calls “Tower Time.” The first part of the book explores scenarios in these chaotic times and suggests possible reframing to understand the historical underpinnings and the long-term effects on both the planet and its inhabitants. The second part of the book–called Berms–consists of tried-and-true rituals and ceremonies for communities, small groups, and individuals to improve resilience and face inevitable change with courage, consideration, and humor. Ballard has decades of ritual experience and brings that understanding to the practical and esoteric considerations of making ceremony both personal and powerful. You will find ideas here and inspiration–and something like hope.

The Cube of Truth is a peaceful static demonstration akin to an art performance. This demonstration operates in a structured manner that triggers curiosity and interest from the public; we attempt to lead bystanders to a vegan conclusion through a combination of local standard-practice animal exploitation footage and conversations with a value-based sales approach.
Masks, signs, and outreach literature are provided. Black upper clothing appropriate for the weather is essential, and please bring a fully charged laptop or tablet if you have one. If you are bringing a laptop or a tablet, please download the following:

“What started out as an indie-rock band called Elonzo some years ago, has developed into a string project by the band’s singer/guitarist, Jeremy Davis. Elonzo Wesley now features a stand-up bass, fiddle and mandolin, which create solid sonic layers, while four-part harmonies only enhance Davis’ personal and emotional lyrics.” ~ Creative Loafing

FREE PATIO SHOW :: White Oak Splits at The Grey Eagle
The Splits call Madison County home, and it’s from this lush high-country that they draw much of their inspiration; the craggy peaks, dark hollers, roaring rivers, and quiet meadows all serving as backdrops for their ever-evolving soundscapes.
All four members boast a musical interest unique from their bandmates, which lends itself to sonic collaboration and psychedelic experimentation ranging in styles from surf to country, blues to thrash, sludge to jazz, all of it swirling together into a style they refer to as Holler Boogie. No matter the set, bring your dancing shoes. It’s fixing to get loud.
