Garden & Gun’s Mint Julep Month is underway, and MG Road is joining the party! From April 5 to May 5, the Asheville lounge is whipping up their own version of the classic cocktail – dubbed the MG Julep – composed of Olmeca Altos Reposado tequila, coriander, ginger and lime zest syrup, all served over crushed ice and garnished with fresh cilantro. Bottoms up!

On May 4th and 5th Asheville Butoh Collective presents Dirt, dreams and death, featuring solo works by ABC’s Jenni Cockrell, Julie Gillum and Constance Humphries.
Mound is an archetypal journey into feminine rites of passage, created and performed by Julie B. Gillum. Composer Ivan Seng will provide novel aurowave companionship in the form of an original soundscape for the piece.

Beginner’s workshop lesson at 7:30 P.M., then 8-11 P.M. Contra Dance with Country Waltzing at the break and the final dance. This is a partner dance but it’s not necessary to come with a partner. We have different live bands and callers.

The 30th anniversary season of Downtown After 5, presented by Prestige Subaru, kicks off Friday, May 18 from 5-9pm. Downtown After 5 takes place the 3rd Friday of the month May – September and is held on North Lexington Avenue. Events are free and open to the public.
