This is my second year selling at TCR Holiday Market, it will be an opportunity for my South Asheville fans to shop for their favorite photos for themselves or as gifts for their loved ones, including matted prints and gallery wrapped canvases.

The 12th annual TCR Holiday Market is the official start to Holiday shopping in Western North Carolina. It is held at TC Roberson High School and will feature artists and crafters with great Christmas Decorations and gift ideas. Come out and support small businesses and your local community.

When reflecting on the current state of the environment, it seems that we have entered into times of seismic sorrows. Carbon emissions, water pollution, fracking, and changing climate patterns all point to a troubling reality with serious consequences for human and non-human populations. Through weavings, installations, sculpture, and print, artists Rena Detrixhe and Tali Weinberg (Tulsa, OK) explore the complex relationship between humans and the planet, offering insights, expressing grief, and creating space for resilience and change.
In Time of Seismic Sorrows is curated by Marilyn Zapf and organized by the Center for Craft. The Center for Craft is supported in part by the N.C. Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.

Join Pisgah Area SORBA for our first ever Halloween Party at Kolo Bike Park, in Asheville, NC.
From 2-6pm on November 3rd grab your friends, family and bikes and join us for a FREE (for members) or $39 for yet-to-be-members. This fee covers an annual individual membership with Pisgah Area SORBA.
We will be pumping, jumping and skillin in the park. There will be chilli, hot dogs and buns provided. Bring a side or something to share (friendly pot-luck style.)
We will also have a Bonfire- there will be smores- and a family-friendly costume contest!

All trees come with a light kit, colorful plastic mini lights, and yellow star tree topper. You must order a tree to attend the painting party! (Purchase of a tree also includes Tree Party ticket!)

An evening of fun, Christmas music, snacks and of course painting! Painting Party is November 3rd, from 6-9 pm. If you would like to order a tree but cannot attend the party, you can come in to paint your tree with a reservation for the date and time you choose (depending upon availability). Please note on your ticket if you have a group that would like to be seated together.

Our Artisan members asked for it, so The Artisan is here to give it to you. Party starts at 8pm with music from Rocky Horror (and some music that fits the theme).
Then, at 9:30pm, we will show the Cult Classic that everyone loves PLUS we have Audience Participation instructions in SUBTITLES so even Virgins can join in. Please keep in mind that we will allow some of the traditions, but anything that will hurt our walls, floors, or other patrons is out. We will provide a list of what is acceptable.
Also, no illegal activity.

CompostNow, Asheville GreenWorks, & New Belgium Brewing are teaming up to fight scary Halloween food waste!
Most of the 1.3 billion pounds of pumpkins produced in the U.S. end up in the landfill. We think there’s a better way to use old pumpkins which is why we’re hosting a free community event “Smash Don’t Trash” on Sunday, November 4th from 12pm-4pm at New Belgium Brewing.
Community members are encouraged to bring their old pumpkins to be composted rather than landfilled. The event will host pumpkin smashing stations, kid-friendly activities, and music on the spacious lawn at New Belgium Brewery. You can also get a $1 off the Voodoo Ranger Atomic Pumpkin beer while supplies last!
All compostables will be processed by Danny’s Dumpster, a family-owned hauling and processing business in Asheville. All compost created from “Smash Don’t Trash” will be shared with Sand Hill Community Garden and Asheville GreenWork’s Sand Hill Orchard and Nursery.
Can’t make the event? There will be a dumpster on Craven Street in front of the brewery all weekend long! Drop your pumpkins off and they’ll still be composted!

The Street Tweaks Team has reimagined four city blocks to be more inviting and safer for pedestrians, cyclists, and car traffic, using inventive temporary materials and on-street art. During Veterans Gratitude Week we will be offering two donation based classes, $5-$15 suggested, with 100% of proceeds supporting Veterans Yoga Project.

BMCM+AC and UNC Asheville presents the Asheville debut of the eclectic string quartet Brooklyn Rider with premiere of their new project Healing Modes. The healing properties of music have been recognized from ancient Greek civilization to the field of modern neuroscience and expressed in countless global traditions. The slow movement of Beethoven’s Opus 132, a ‘Song of Holy Thanksgiving From a Convalescent to the Deity in the Lydian mode,’ is among the most profound expressions of healing in the string quartet repertoire. This autumnal masterwork is presented in its entirety alongside five compact new commissions which explore the subject of healing from a wide range of historical and cultures perspectives. Composers include Tyondai Braxton, Reena Esmail, Gabriela Lena Frank, Matana Roberts and recent Pulitzer Prize winner Caroline Shaw.
