James Gregory
Jun 5 @ 7:30 pm
Peace Concert Hall

gregory

For decades, veteran comedian James Gregory has stood grinning: his shirt untucked, his arms outstretched, a carefree welcome to a down-home, hilarious comedy experience. It’s storytelling at its best, and on June 5, he brings his rib-tickling reflections on life from the front porch to the Peace Center.

The Atlanta native’s success as a comedian is the direct result of the values he grew up with. And now, twenty-something years later, it is this unique brand of humor that packs the crowds into sold-out theaters and comedy clubs and has earned him a weekly presence on syndicated radio shows that are broadcast to people in over 220 cities nationwide. The absence of vulgarity sets him apart, and his stories are carefully crafted art. As he would say, “It’s real, it’s funny, and the audience loves it.”

Throughout his career, James has been featured in publications such as Atlanta MagazineCountry America, and Southern Living and has appeared in concert with Kenny Chesney, Randy Travis, Reba McEntire, Ricky Skaggs, and more!

Gregory invites you to turn the clock back to a time when life was simpler – before the death of common sense and the introduction of cell phones.

This performance will feature special guest Dan Mengini! Dan’s truthful and brilliant comedy has been featured on Pure Flix Comedy All-Stars, USA Network’s Necessary Roughness, and more.

A great place to find live Asheville’s live comedy performances and other local comedy fans!

We’ll be posting all the Asheville-area stand-up comedy shows in the area (assuming I know about them). We’ve met several of you already, and we’d love to meet more of you!

Asheville has a lot of great comedy. There’s touring comics performing in larger venues. Asheville is also home to a thriving local scene with great local comics performing in smaller venues and opening for touring comics. There is also a great selection of open mics, so if you ever have the itch to try something out, you’ll have plenty of opportunities.
