The siblings meet Captain Bones, a mean old pirate who captures the two and forces them to help him find buried treasure. Known for his part in Crosby, Stills & Nash, Stephen Stills met Judy Collins (and her piercing ocean blue eyes) 50 years ago. Their tumultuous love affair would later be immortalized by Stills with his composition “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes,” performed by Crosby, Stills & Nash on their landmark debut. This summer, the two icons of folk will celebrate the golden anniversary of their formative time together.
Best known for the hits “For What It’s Worth” by Buffalo Springfield and “Love The One You’re With” from his solo debut, Stills is a multi-instrumentalist and composer, and was ranked #28 in Rolling Stone’s “The 100 Greatest Guitarists Of All Time.”
Five-time Grammy® nominee Collins is known for her eclectic palette as a solo artist, melding folk, rock, classical, and jazz into a singular aesthetic. Her dreamy version of “Send in the Clowns” won Song of the Year for composer Stephen Sondheim at the 1975 Grammy Awards.
For this once in a lifetime experience, the two music legends will pull from their rich catalogs, debut songs from their upcoming album, and share warm and intimate stories from their journeys and the 1960s folk and Laurel Canyon scenes they helped build.

“Tom Gray and Mark Johnson are the rusty, banged up Cadillacs of the slide guitar, side by side coughing up smoke and spitting backwoods dirt, but unswerving in their precision and singular style.”
— Tom Clarke, Hittin’ the Note
Delta Moon plays deep roots music. A whisky-flavored voice delivers 21st century lyrics, while two slide guitars wind around an unshakeable groove like kudzu vines on a barbwire fence.
Delta Moon won the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2003. The Roots Music Association named lead vocalist Tom Gray Blues 2008 Songwriter of the Year. Tom is well known in the music industry as a songwriter, having penned, among many songs recorded by other artists, Cyndi Lauper’s hit “Money Changes Everything.”
Delta Moon’s music has been featured on Showtime, Lifetime, the Food Network and more. Delta Moon tours extensively in the United States, Canada and Europe. Delta Moon’s latest album, Cabbagetown — named for one of the band’s favorite Atlanta neighborhoods — came out in March 2017. The band has been touring incessantly behind it, visiting nine countries since spring, every night winning enthusiastic audience response. No Depression describes Cabbagetown as having “great grooves, thought provoking lyrics, infectious hooks, sweet slide guitar work and mountains of superb tone….”
It has been two decades now since Tom Gray and Mark Johnson started playing slide guitar together — Mark on bottleneck and Tom on lap steel — first for their own amusement and edification at homes and in the studio, and then in clubs, coffee shops and barbecue joints around Atlanta. The name Delta Moon came to Mark on a pilgrimage to Muddy Waters’ cabin near Clarksdale, Mississippi, when a gigantic full moon rose over the highway. With the addition of bass and drums Delta Moon stormed onto the Georgia nightclub scene, quickly gathering a wall-full of local “best” awards. After winning the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2003, the band widened its travels to include the United States, Canada, and Europe. They have worked steadily on the road and in the studio ever since. Bassist Franher Joseph joined Delta Moon in 2007, adding a deep rhythm pocket and rich bass vocals.
“Delta Moon is deep blues with a fury…. Hot stuff!”
— Vintage Guitar

Kris Kristofferson has been making things happen his entire life. Born in Texas and raised in a military family, he was a Golden Gloves boxer who studied creative writing at Pomona College in California. The Phi Beta Kappa graduate earned a Rhodes scholarship to study literature at Oxford, where he boxed, played rugby and continued to write songs. After graduating from Oxford, Kristofferson served in the army as an Airborne Ranger helicopter pilot and achieved the rank of Captain. In 1965, Kristofferson turned down an assignment to teach at West Point and, inspired by songwriters like Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash, moved to Nashville to pursue his music. Heralded as an artist’s artist, the three-time GRAMMY winner has recorded 30 albums, including three with pals Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings as part of the Highwaymen. Kristofferson has spent three decades performing concerts all over the world.

Chapel Hill’s indie Americana quartet Mipso – Jacob Sharp (mandolin, vocals), Wood Robinson (bass, vocals), Joseph Terrell (guitar, vocals), and Libby Rodenbough (fiddle, vocals) – release their fifth album, Edges Run, on April 6th, 2018 via a newly inked record deal with AntiFragile Music. Influenced by the contradiction of its progressive home and the surrounding rural southern landscapes, Mipso has been hailed as “hewing surprisingly close to gospel and folk while still sounding modern and secular” (Acoustic Guitar) and was recently recognized by Rolling Stone as an “ Artist You Need to Know.” The band brings a distinctly unique sound – full of wistful beauty, hopeful undercurrents, and panoramic soundscapes. Venturing ever-further from its string-band pedigree to discover a broader Americana where classic folk-rock and modern alt-country sounds mingle easily with Appalachian tradition, Mipso’s music is lush and forward moving, with lyrics that sear and salve in turn. Look for Mipso on tour this spring in support of their new release, Edges Run.
