Bush

Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort

Gavin Rossdale – Vocals/Guitar Robin Goodridge – Drums Chris Traynor – Guitar Corey Britz – Bass The headline of the Billboard article said it all: “Like They Never Left.” The story, which ran in the Oct 29, 2011 issue, hailed the return of mega-platinum rock band BUSH, who had just self-released The Sea of Memories, their first album in 10 years and wasted no time returning to the top of the charts. In fact, they did it in grand style: the album’s lead single, “The Sound of Winter,” made rock radio history by becoming the first self-released song ever to hit No. 1 at Alternative Radio. “The Sound of Winter” also holds the distinction of being the reunited group’s first No. 1 single since 1999’s chart-topping hit, “The Chemicals Between Us.”

Dr. Bacon

DR. BACON is a 7 Piece touring Appalachian Funk, Grass and Rock & Roll band.

Blending incredibly diverse instrumentation with broad, deep musical influences, allows the band to perform a plethora of widely accessible, danceable music.

The Dr. Bacon Live Experience is truly a spectacle to behold, bringing the audience on a musical Journey that lulls and spikes in energy, caressing ears with lush beauty and whipping crowds into a tribal romp, shaking booties and shedding inhibitions. This manic versatility ensures that no matter what genre of music you identify with most, you will hear something that resonates. Dr. Bacon started playing together in 2012 on King Street in Boone as a 3 piece busking with acoustic bluegrass, folk, and 90s pop/rock/hip-hop influenced music. Several lineup changes over the years and a move to Asheville have refined and redirected the bands sound, incorporating funk, rock, soul, psychedelic and world music to Appalachian influences. The blending of several elements of these genres (often within the same song) along with unique instrumentation is the real Bacon flavor.

Dr. Bacon now tours regularly up and down the east coast.

Arson Daily

Starting in 2014, North Carolina natives Arson Daily effortlessly work hard and play harder. Done so by making music and performance professionalism their main focus, in proper rock n’ roll fashion. The trifecta of talent (comprised of vocalist/guitarist Zach Dunham, bassist Quincy Platt and drummer Adam McLean) has locked in an unique alt-party psych-rock sound. Comparable to the rage of Cage the Elephant, Arson Daily continues their quest with a second full length album (due late 2018). Getting their early start performing in packed basement shows, the months spent playing these shows would only contribute to their growth as professional musicians. It’s essential to let their energy encapsulate the listener, holding them hungry for the next show.

Their most recent release, an EP titled “What’s On Your Mind” (June 2017) encaptures the essence that is Arson Daily. With split-step sounds complimented by chill-wave call-and-release, it’s your road trip go to. The trio is notable for taking their sound across several genres, which is showcased in “What’s On Your Mind”. The vox-garage styles of Dunham’s vocals coupled with Platt’s golden-groove bass licks and the complex, creative sounds of McLean’s percussion create the revolution that is Arson Daily.

When put up against the world, music like Arson Daily can teleport you to a tropical brit-rock reservoir. Their storytelling abilities showcase the sentimentality that even an extroverted three piece can provide when given the chance to. For listeners looking to walk like a badass, throw on Arson Daily to put some party pep in your step.

C2 & The Brothers Reed

“Hailing from the Bluegrass with a sound as unique and smooth as the regions’ beloved bourbon, C2 & The Brothers Reed’s authenticity shines in their studio debut Weigh Station Tour.

After the independent release of their first EP “Hot Mess”, along with an extensive tour schedule (250+ shows in 2015-16) traveling mainly in the southern part of the country, they took to the studio less than a year later to cut their new record Weigh Station Tour. Split into sides, ‘Exit A’ ‘Exit B’, Weigh Station Tour explores gritty rock and roll while referencing 60’s and 70’s era soul music, embracing a style that is nearly lost but deeply needed in the surge of modern sound and technology.

The band – singer/bassist Cameron Clark, guitarist Kelly Reed, drummer Kody Reed, and keyboardist James Weishar – hide behind nothing on their records, with a ‘realness’ that has been constantly attributed to their live performance.

Since forming in 2013, C2 & The Brothers Reed have made some notable appearances across the board with acts such as Stone Temple Pilots’ Scott Weiland, Moon Taxi, Eddie Money, Warrant, and jam bands The Werks and Dopapod. “Weigh Station Tour: Exit A” was released in January 2015 and the followup “Exit B” released summer of 2016.”

Eliada’s Annual Corn Maze
Sep 28 @ 9:29 pm

This year, Eliada will maintain some beloved attractions including the tractor ride, which now drives all the way around the Corn Maze, jumping pillow, corn kernel sand box, spider web climber, tube slides, and corn cannons.

Eliada is pleased to announce that the corn planted in the field is Non-GMO, and that Eliada used all natural fertilizers to help the corn grow.
The Corn Maze raises $100,000 for the agency every year, and we have come to rely on this event to support our programs,” says Davis-Bryant. “I never thought I’d have a job in which I relied on a field of corn growing! Changing up how we planted the corn field meant a lot to us, but was also a risk. I am proud of the agency for engaging in this kind of risk taking. The corn has grown beautifully, and we can be proud of the ways we have improved the event for the long-term sustainability of our land.
This year, Eliada is also adding beer and cider sales to the makeup of the event.

This option, available to guests only on weekends (Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sunday afternoons), will help the agency increase revenue to support the growing needs children and youth face in our community. Eliada is excited to work with local and national partners to provide an array of beer and cider options!

A Tribute To Robert Hunter:

Bill C. Evans and James Stymie Collins, founding members of Phuncle Sam, pay tribute to Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter with a focus on his solo material.

Truly one of America’s most iconic wordsmiths, Robert Hunter is even more prolific than many realize, having penned lyrics for the likes of Bob Dylan, Bruce Hornsby Los Lobos and more. Though his most famous words are probably “What a long strange trip it’s been!”

Metaphonia

Formed in 2014 in Boone, NC, Metaphonia is the Prog-Funk brainchild of bassist/vocalist Alex Golden and keyboardist Mike Runyon. What started as a trio between Golden, Runyon, and drummer Jason Burch, swiftly turned into a head-spinning chamber orchestra of math-dance-madness. With a current lineup also featuring Blake Bostain (trumpet), John Portela (saxophone), and Erik Brandt (guitar), Metaphonia boasts some of the finest and most diverse talents in the high country. So, if funky, complex, and seldom-apologetic, satirical lyrical content sound up your crooked alley, Metaphonia is just the nonsense for you!
