National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) began in 1999 as a daunting but straightforward challenge: to write 50,000 words of a novel during the thirty days of November. Now, each year on Nov. 1, hundreds of thousands of people around the world begin to write, determined to end the month with 50,000 words of a brand-new novel.
If you are doing NaNoWriMo this year, the Buncombe County Public Library wants to support you in your endeavors! Join us for the following events throughout the month to keep you invigorated and motivated. All events are free, but online events require registration. TFAC invites all artists: painters, sculptors, writers, performers & more — to a casual weekly drop-in gathering on Saturday mornings at 9 AM to share your works in progress, alert others, and chat about art and what’s happening in your community.
The first weekly Coffee is Saturday, August 20 at 9 am.
No RSVP needed, just drop by!

Join us for our monthly reading series, Writers at Home. November’s event celebrates The Great Smokies Review and retiring GSWP faculty member Vicki Lane and will feature readings by Margaret Faeth, Margaret Bishop, Kathleen Calby, Terry Deal, and Yve Mitchell.
This is a hybrid event, meaning there is an option to attend virtually and a limited number of seats are available to attend the event in-store. Registration is required for both in-person and virtual attendance.

The first weekly Coffee is Saturday, August 20 at 9 am.

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) began in 1999 as a daunting but straightforward challenge: to write 50,000 words of a novel during the thirty days of November. Now, each year on Nov. 1, hundreds of thousands of people around the world begin to write, determined to end the month with 50,000 words of a brand-new novel.
If you are doing NaNoWriMo this year, the Buncombe County Public Library wants to support you in your endeavors! Join us for the following events throughout the month to keep you invigorated and motivated. All events are free, but online events require registration.
