J.WAIL Live Band ft Vince Herman Leftover Salmon + Kito Bovernshulte [Particle] & Mikey Spice of The Fritz w/ Josh Blake Organ Trio

*Vince Herman will play a solo set and then join J.WAIL Live Band*

The Colorado based electronic music producer and performer, J.WAIL, has announced his upcoming fall tour. On the bulk of this much anticipated run he is joined by an all-star band featuring Vince Herman of Leftover Salmon and Kito Bovenschulte of Particle, as well as bassist Kyle Hale of Spyscraper. J.WAIL has built a strong, loyal fanbase over the years, through ceaseless touring and curating a live experience that is distinct, empowering, and entirely unforgettable. Combining the thump and kick of dance rhythms rooted in multiple realms of EDM, and infusing it with live instrumentation and improvisation, J.WAIL’s sound is an amalgamation of electronic and organic instrumentation that never strays too far from its core mission; creating a blissful wailian wave of a dance party! He has logged countless hours touring every corner of North America and has collaborated and performed with members of Ween, String Cheese Incident, STS9, Lotus and Perpetual Groove, to name a short few. The forthcoming tour includes stops in Baltimore, MD, Birmingham, AL, Atlanta, GA, Asheville, NC, Winston-Salem, NC and Raleigh, NC, respectively. Vince Herman will also be opening the shows with a solo set. Preceding the run with Herman and Bovenschulte, J.WAIL will be starting the fall tour off with a hometown show at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, CO, on October 20th. He will be accompanied by his Live Band including Nic Thornsberry (Dynohunter) on drums and a very special musical guest to be announced before the show. The show is being billed as an Alien & Robots party and also features VibeSquaD, Eliot Lipp, and Ken Carl Project doing a Daft Punk Tribute. *VINCE HERMAN of Leftover Salmon*

Vince Herman is a guitarist and singer and songwriter best known for being one of the founding members of Leftover Salmon. Leftover Salmon started in 1989 as somewhat of a melding of the Left Hand String Band and the Salmonheads, and became more and more popular over the sixteen years that followed. The band decided to go their separate ways in 2005, but still play together (billed as Leftover Salmon) on occasion. Since the hiatus, Herman formed a new band named Great American Taxi, who released their debut album in 2007. GAT toured extensively and garnered a following, with hijinx such as joining Peter Rowan on stage, playing a Ficus tree for Moonalice. Often when finishing the first jam of the night he tells the crowd “I feel a hell of a lot more like I do now than I did a few minutes ago”. Vince toured with GAT until the Leftover Salmon tours called Vince away in 2013. Great American Taxi is an ever evolving band with the likes of Todd Snider and Tim Carbone taking the stage since Vince’s departure.

After graduating from Berklee College of Music, Victor fronted Midnight Snack, an art-pop band known for their expressive combination of folk, psych-rock, and indie-dance. In 2017, in an effort to expand his musicality, Victor began experimenting with the guitar for the first time. His most recent solo project was born out of this exploration. The songs are simple and raw, observing the human condition through the lens of a lover, a friend, a son, a stranger.

KISMET is an alt-R&B/indie-soul trio from Asheville, NC. Combining the sub-genres of soul to create a pop driven, vocally prominent sound, KISMET delivers vulnerable yet commanding performances. Show: 10PM

Darla

Darla is a 7-piece instrumental band from Philadelphia. Since forming in 2014, the group has honed their palette of funk and rock grooves, drawing from their origins in the Philadelphia DIY basement scene and influences of 1970s funk and fusion. The Darla sound is an accessible one—free from over-complication and over-indulgence. Fronted by saxophonists Wil Schade and David Bartler, the duo acts as the vocal core of the group, layering catchy melodies atop the methodical, feel-focused rhythm section of Michael Morrongiello (bass), Brendan Monahan (guitar), Jake Held (baritone guitar), Kosta Johnson (keys), and Richard Straub (drums). This talented group of non-conservatory musicians gets every crowd in the dancing mood with their raw, unpolished energy.

Darla has shared the stage with the likes of George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, KNOWER, The Disco Biscuits, George Porter Jr. (The Meters), Kamasi Washington, Bill Laurance, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, and Cory Henry & the Funk Apostles. The band works closely with the legendary engineer and member of The Butcher Brothers, Phil Nicolo (Ms. Lauryn Hill, Billy Joel, BonJovi, Bob Dylan) of Phil’s Records.

Reclaimed Creations
Nov 11 @ 8:00 am – 6:00 pm
NC Arboretum

Reclaimed Creations is a unique sculpture exhibit created by renowned artist Sayaka Ganz. Utilizing reclaimed plastic objects, such as discarded utensils, Ganz creates amazing sculptures that visually appear unified at a distance, but are in fact separated when examined up close. Described as using a “3D impressionistic” style, Ganz’s exhibit includes installations of animals in motion, which are in rich in color and energy, to create an illusion of form.

About the Artist

Born in Yokohama, Japan, Sayaka Ganz grew up living in Japan, Brazil and Hong Kong. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in sculpture from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. A lecturer and teacher, Ganz’s work has been displayed at various institutions around the globe, including the Hermann Geiger Foundation in Cecina, Italy, the Isle Gallery in Isle of Man, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California.

My work is about perceiving harmony, even in situations that appear chaotic from the inside. When observing my sculptures up close, one might see gaps, holes and items being held on only by small points; step away, however, and the sculptures reveal the harmony created when the objects are aligned to the same general (but not identical) direction. Similarly, it is important to gain perspective by stepping back from current problems and look at the larger picture. Then one can perceive the beauty and patterns that exist.”

Asheville Event & Dance Centre

Source and Synchronicities is a two-day course for anyone seeking greater health, greater wealth and greater love.

The Course will take place Nov 10 – 11 in 8 US cities : Asheville, NC, Austin TX, Boston MA, Chicago IL, Kansas City KS, Miami FL, New York City, NY and Washington DC.

Come experience an ultimate fusion of the Power of Source with the Power of Consciousness.

What is Consciousness?
Consciousness is the very ground of all existence. It is the fundamental essence of all that is.

By locking into the Source to access limitless power and awakening to the Power of Consciousness, you will learn the mystic science of creating synchronicities, directly from Preethaji, the founder of O&O Academy.

What Is Source?
Throughout time Source has been addressed by various names: the divine, an inner presence, cosmic consciousness or innate intelligence.

What Are Synchronicities?
Synchronicities are meaningful and favorable coincidences that happen in alignment with your intention. It feels as if this randomly moving universe is arranging itself in patterns in response to your heart’s longing, bringing together beautiful people and situations to support you. When this happens every day with incredible frequency we say you have entered a magical life of synchronicities.

What Will You Receive?
During this course you will awaken to the three important zones of synchronicity:

– The Healing Zone to experience increased physical health and
rejuvenation
– The Love Zone to attract and sustain relationships
– The Power Zone to create and enjoy greater abundance
– You will be empowered with a meditation practice to create
synchronicities in your daily life.

Faculty
Source & Synchronicities is taught via live simulcast by Preethaji and supported by O&O Academy faculty members.

Preethaji is the founder of One World Academy and O&O Academy. She is a philosopher who has impacted scores of seekers across the world. A loving wife, a dedicated mother, a conscious leader and spiritual mentor to the community of teachers at the Academy, Preethaji has created 5 successful global businesses along with her husband Krishnaji.

In Times of Seismic Sorrows
Nov 11 @ 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
Center for Craft

When reflecting on the current state of the environment, it seems that we have entered into times of seismic sorrows. Carbon emissions, water pollution, fracking, and changing climate patterns all point to a troubling reality with serious consequences for human and non-human populations. Through weavings, installations, sculpture, and print, artists Rena Detrixhe and Tali Weinberg (Tulsa, OK) explore the complex relationship between humans and the planet, offering insights, expressing grief, and creating space for resilience and change.

In Time of Seismic Sorrows is curated by Marilyn Zapf and organized by the Center for Craft. The Center for Craft is supported in part by the N.C. Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
