The WNC Nature Center continues roaring back to life with one of Asheville’s favorite summer traditions — Brews and Bears!
Starting Friday, May 9, from 5:30–8:00 p.m., this after-hours event invites guests to enjoy the Nature Center in the cool evening hours with live music, local food, and plenty of local brews and beverages.
The Brews and Bears Summer Series will take place on the second Friday of each month through August, and each event features a unique lineup of food trucks, musicians, and animal education programs—so no two nights are the same!

Beach Babes Standup Comedy Show brings the vibes to the mountains in the heart of downtown Asheville! Roman Fraden his not for the faint of heart. 18+
Roman is a Los Angeles-based comedian and a regular performer at classic Hollywood venues including The Comedy Store, The Laugh Factory, and The Hollywood Improv. He has trained with Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) Theatre, performed in various ensemble casts in film and on stage, and has opened for Mark Normand, Margaret Cho, and Patton Oswald. His one man show ‘Back In The Closet’ made it’s world premiere at Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2018. He currently is living in Asheville while still performing everywhere.
Host Hilliary Begley from NETFLIX & AMAZON PRIME, this beach babe will keep you laughing.
Featuring Cayla Clark from BLIND DATELIVE, who is very pregnant on this show but still one of the funniest people around (check out her famous instagram).

Taking place at The Horse Shoe Farm in Asheville on Sunday, July 13, the all-inclusive, walk- around tour will feature a lineup of local chefs and artisans, each grilling globally inspired, heritage-breed proteins al fresco. The offerings include a wide array of meats and heirloom vegetables from the region’s top family farms and local purveyors. Brought to you by top culinary event producers a21, Heritage Fire educates consumers and offers hands-on experience with honest food sourced straight from the farm.
An all-star cast of top chefs from Asheville and beyond will be on-site serving up delicious bites prepared over live fire. DIRT: Prepare a five-minute story about what lies beneath. Squalor, smut, muck and mire. Air out your dirty laundry and don’t leave out the filthy details. Your time spent in flowerbeds, quicksand, or the pig pen. The spade sinking into gravelly ground. The muddy footprints on the pristine white carpet. X marks the spot. What will you unearth? Buried treasure, lurid gossip, or a big orange carrot. Talk dirty to us!

Learn some of the hottest country hip hop line dances with the Blue Country Line Dancers and dance all afternoon! Country Swing Two-Steppers are welcome to join as they’ll be opportunities to strut your stuff. To top it all off, grab a mimosa or bloody and some delicious crunchy-lunchy dishes from the Taqueria. This is your weekend opportunity to dance your heart out with super-friendly dancers instructors. Golden Hour’s collaborative guest chef series is off to a delicious start, and they are keeping the momentum going this July by welcoming Chef Mike Rednak from Indaco Greenville to bring his culinary influences for a five-course tasting menu that celebrates wood fired flavors and local ingredients. This series invites chefs to Golden Hour to share the kitchen for a one-night-only menu that reflects their roots, creativity and signature style.

Headliner Jordan Julius is a Charlotte-based comedian and the winner of the 2024 Slice Standup Comedy Pageant, of which 20 great regional comics competed. He is a stand-up comedian fueled by caffeine, anime, and the kind of life choices that make great material (eventually). Blending pop culture, slice-of-life chaos, and way too many hours spent gaming, Jordon’s comedy hits that sweet spot between nostalgic and unhinged.
Sarah Love is a comedian based in Asheville, North Carolina. She’s performed all over the region including at Zanies Lab in Nashville, featured at The Comedy Zone Greenville, and is a regular on Don’t Tell Comedy shows across the Southeast. She is a wry yet kinetic comic with a rebellious streak. Her comedy is blunt, relatable, and just unhinged enough to keep you on your toes.

Louis C.K. is a six-time Emmy Award and three-time Grammy Award winner. He has released over ten stand up specials including his most recent “Louis C.K. at the Dolby,” “Sorry,” and “Sincerely, Louis C.K.,” all released direct to fans on his website. In 2023, C.K. live-streamed his sold out in the round performance from Madison Square Garden, aptly named “Back To The Garden,” through his website. Previous specials include “Shameless,” “Chewed Up,” “Hilarious,” “Word – Live at Carnegie Hall” (audio), “Live at the Beacon Theater,” “Oh My God,” “Live at the Comedy Store,” and “Louis C.K. 2017.” C.K. is the creator, writer, director, and star of the Peabody Award winning shows “Louie” and “Horace and Pete.” C.K. also co-wrote, directed, and appeared in the feature film “Fourth of July,” released in theaters nationwide in July 2022. In January 2015, he became the first comedian to sell out Madison Square Garden three times for the same tour.
