How ’bout them Apples?

We post each Thursday morning any ripening updates in the orchard. Remember we are an heirloom apple orchard. Our mission is to save the good stuff…including apple varieties. In addition to trees that fruit during the normal late September/October season in greater quantity, also we plant small batch numbers of heirloom apple trees. Some ripen earlier (an unexpected gift); all have their uses from apple sauce, to butters, to juice and ciders, and just fresh eating off the trees. They won’t all be available all the time. But, when they are, we’ll let you know. Please come and see for yourself.

RBG – Film
Oct 15 all-day
Online

The Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning documentary RBG, directed by award-winning filmmakers Betsy West and Julie Cohen, chronicles the inspiring and personal story of Ginsburg’s rise to the nation’s highest court while becoming an unexpected pop culture icon. “From her Supreme Court chambers to her exercise room, what a privilege and a joy it was for us to train our cameras on RBG, and capture the story of this feisty, determined, brilliant woman who used her talents to make our world a better place,” said West and Cohen.

“What makes it memorable is its portrait of a woman with an exceptional intellect, to be sure, but also a lifelong capacity for staggering amounts of minutely detailed, unswervingly purposeful work.” – Joe Morgenstern, Wall Street Journal

“The movie’s touch is light and its spirit buoyant, but there is no mistaking its seriousness or its passion. Those qualities resonate powerfully in the dissents that may prove to be Justice Ginsburg’s most enduring legacy, and RBG is, above all, a tribute to her voice.” – A.O. Scott, The New York Times

In addition to owning the film, you’ll also have access to a long-form Q&A with the directors from earlier this summer.

He was captured by the Germans and sent to the Auschwitz death camp, where he boxed for his life and survived. On his return to Belgium after the Second World War Noah volunteered to help the “Hagana” organization to smuggle Jews by illegal immigration to Israel, eventually joining them aboard the renowned ship “Exodus – 1947”. Today Noah is 89 years old; a highly reputable journalist for one of Israel’s daily papers, and a former chairman of the Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Team. This moving and engaging documentary chronicles Noah’s incredible life journey, and is based on his book “A Dozen Rolls for Breakfast”.
