It is very important for donors to continue donating in the weeks and months ahead in order to maintain an adequate local blood supply. If you are feeling healthy and well, please make an appointment before donating so we can maintain the proper social distancing. The safety of our donors and staff is our top priority!

We invite young LEAFers to join LEAF Resident Teaching Artist Adama Dembele for a virtual drumming and dance class for elementary age kids. Adama is a master djembefola (djembe player) from the Ivory Coast, West Africa, and has been a part of LEAF since 2005. He currently teaches year round after school classes with LEAF Schools & Streets, and he is excited to offer video classes in which students can take a journey to explore the sounds, rhythms and movements of West African culture right from their own home!

This year will mark the 55th year for the fundraising luncheon.

The pastries table will be filled with all the favorite Greek pastries like Baklava, Kourambiethes, Galatoboureko, and many more. Think honey, nuts and, yes….buttery filo. They are the perfect finale to the vast buffet of savory foods you will find here. There will be Greek music and dance presentations as well.
Proceeds from the Ladies Philoptochos Society luncheon go to charities world-wide, and locally to programs for the homeless, children & hunger.

Join the Conserving Carolina “Kudzu Warriors” as they continue the fight against Kudzu, a non-native and invasive vine, at the Conserving Carolina owned Norman Wilder Forest off of Hwy 176.
The Kudzu Warriors, named for their hard work eradicating Kudzu on Little Warrior Mountain, have been defending the Conserving Carolina nature preserve from Kudzu (and other exotic species) since 2011 and have made a tremendous impact on the property. Areas that were once a mat of Kudzu vines are now lush with native vegetation! But the fight is not over, and we need your help!
Join us Monday from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the Norman Wilder Forest parking area/trailhead off of Hwy 176, between Tryon and Saluda. GPS points (35.22458, -82.27428)
We will supply tools and gloves, but please bring water and a snack for yourself, dress appropriately and bring your own work gloves if you’d like.
To RSVP or for more information call Pam at 828-697-5777, ext 300 or email [email protected].
