How this works:
please meet in the entryway of the facility by 3:30 PM. We will hug our way through the hallways together, stopping in the rooms and spending a little time with the residents giving out hugs, having conversations and brightening their day. No experience necessary. Supplies provided. Feel free to bring along things to donate to the residents like gently used baby dolls, costume jewelry or flowers.
Feel free to show up at any time and find us along the way. Drop in and spend 15 minutes, or stay the entire time, it’s up to you.
All are welcome.
If you are not a hugger, please come along anyway and engage in conversation and smiles.
This will be super casual – no stress. You can just show up and follow my lead :) It feels amazing to give your time and energy to these folks who really are hug deficient. #winwin

Winter can be the most beautiful time of the year at Chimney Rock. Leafless trees make for expansive views of Lake Lure and the Hickory Nut Gorge. The sky is clear; you’re likely to find a quiet spot to sit and enjoy the peacefulness. You may even see a critter scamper by you in the forest. Capture that special moment or scene on your camera, enter it in our Winter Wonders Photo Contest and tell us about it. We’ll use the winning entries on our website and Facebook album, and you’ll win some fun prizes. Photos must be taken within the Chimney Rock section of the Park.
Cost: No additional cost to enter.
