Thursday Night Blues with The Patrick Dodd Trio

Highland Brewing Company

Patrick Dodd, a fan-favorite contestant from The Voice, will be joining us every Thursday to rock out with his band and the occasional special guest. About Patrick Dodd

After years of honing his chops on Beale Street in Memphis, TN, Native Memphian, Patrick Dodd was recently thrust into the national spotlight as a contestant on NBC’s The Voice. Viewers loved his signature rasping growl that echoes with soul and heartfelt rocking rhythm that Dodd displayed on stage for a worldwide audience to hear! Viewers cried “Foul” when Dodd was eliminated from the show and demanded that he get on the road and tour.

Patrick and his band have been influenced by such gifted players as Gregg Allman, The Black Crowes, The Black Keys, Gov’t Mule and Derek Trucks along with soul icons like Steve Wonder and Ray Charles. The group gets every room moving, from the first note to the final guitar flourishes.

Bumpin Uglies w/ VillaNova + LOZ in Greenville, SC!
Mar 14 @ 7:00 pm – Mar 15 @ 12:00 am
The Firmament

Bumpin Uglies with Villanova and LOZ
3.14.2019
$10 @ Bit.ly/TF-BumpinUglies
$15 DOS
+$5 under 21

For nearly a decade now, Bumpin Uglies have been playing their brand of groove-heavy jams – a curiously fun mix of ska, Reggae and good ole’ punk rock – all while putting strong lyrics at the forefront of the music. It’s a formula that quickly took them from local favorites, playing around Annapolis, to a national stage. With a wildly infectious sound, tattoo-worthy lyrics and an itch to take their music to the masses, the band piled into the van years ago and have rarely seen home since.

When they aren’t on the road, they’ve been camped in the studio, churning out four full-length albums, two acoustic albums, three EP’s and a Live record. Their latest, 2018’s Beast From The East came out on Space Duck Records and is proof that the band has found their groove. The album consists of a dozen stand-out tracks, any one of which could be considered instant classics for the band. The album also features some big names in the East Coast reggae-rock community including Ballyhoo!’s Howi Spangler, the Movement’s Gary Dread, Passafire’s Ted Bowne, Tropidelic’s Derek McBryde, Matthew Roads & Young James, Zach Fowler of Sun Dried Vibes and Oogee Wawa’s Jesse Lee. Buzz magazine raves “Beast From The East IS A CAREFULLY CRAFTED PUNK-REGGAE GEM.”

The Bumpin Uglies’ origin story begins with singer/guitarist Brandon Hardesty playing open mics around Maryland. He met bassist Dave Wolf not too long after and Bumpin Uglies was born. With a proper set of wheels and TJ Haslett on drums, they went off to spread their music across the country like modern day Johnny Appleseeds. The group recently added Chad Wright on keyboards, expanding on their sound.

Raised on everything from Bad Religion and The Beach Boys to Sublime and Reel Big Fish, Bumpin Uglies have managed to take inspiration from some of the best out there, run it through their own distinctive filter and end up with a truly original take on the various genres creating an original hybrid. With a unique sound that’s nearly impossible to ignore, the band has gotten everyone from dreadlocked kids to PBR-fueled tattooed punks moving their heads to their music at festivals and on headlining tours across the country.

Who is Bumpin Uglies?

Brandon Hardesty – Vocals, Guitar

Dave Wolf – Vocals, Bass

TJ Haslett – Drums

Chad Wright – Vocals, Keys, Guitar

Mar 14 @ 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm

If you’ve caught shows in Asheville over the last few years with The Milk Carton Kids or Sierra Hull, you are familiar with the powerful bass playing and refined musicianship of Ethan Jodziewicz. On March 14, he returns to town leading his own quartet, playing brand new original compositions falling somewhere between jazz, classical, acoustic music, and pure free improvisation. Featuring fellow virtuosos Mike Seal (electric guitar), Mark Raudabaugh (drums) and Aaron Walters (keyboards). ABOUT The Ethan Jodziewicz Group is guitarist Mike Seal, drummer Mark Raudabaugh, keyboardist Aaron Walters, and upright/electric bassist Ethan Jodziewicz. Brought together in 2017 by their love of the music of Chick Corea and Weather Report, they quickly found a satisfying connection in musical collaboration and improvisation. Todd Hoke LIVE at Sanctuary Brewing Company
Mar 14 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Sanctuary Brewing Company

It doesn’t get much better than Todd Hoke at Sanctuary Brewing Company! Join us for an evening of music and laughter Thursday March 14th, 2019 @ 7 PM! We Love Todd Hoke and know you will too!

Todd Hoke was born in Conroe, Texas (just north of Houston), lived in Austin for a dozen years, and currently pays his utility bills on time in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Todd Hoke has 2 dogs and a wife. Todd Hoke has recorded & released 3 albums of music covering a wide array of topics, styles, and moods in the process. Todd Hoke has played a lot of shows. Some were utterly fantastic and some landed somewhere south of that. Blah blah blah…This is dull. How about this:

Todd Hoke has never been in a barfight but he has provided music for one. Seriously.

Todd Hoke is charmed by shiny objects.

Todd Hoke very much enjoys wearing his flipflops in situations where close-toed shoes are the expectation. Weddings, funerals, courthearings, whatever.

Todd Hoke very much wants to live in a world where strangers spontaneously burst into song. In harmony.

Todd Hoke is puzzled by pleated trousers.

Todd Hoke thinks the Blue Jays really have a shot at going all the way this year. Unless they face off against the Bears and/or Pirates. Blue Jays have no defense against Bears and/or Pirates.

Todd Hoke was kicked out of the green room at Austin City Limits shortly after saying “Excuse me.” to Eric Clapton. Todd Hoke has been exceedingly rude to rockstars ever since.

Todd Hoke is learning Bruce Springsteen’s “Nebraska” on ukulele.

Todd Hoke wears a size 13.

Todd Hoke may someday learn to tapdance. Or Todd Hoke may not. That’s how Todd Hoke is.

Todd Hoke had one grandmother named Jewel, another named Pearl, and still has an uncle named Punky who wishes everyone would call him Walter instead.

Todd Hoke earns his rent and beer money as a hospice nurse.

Todd Hoke probably couldn’t live off guacamole, but he would be willing to participate in a study to find out. For serious.

Todd Hoke very much likes Townes Van Zandt, Leon Redbone, Guy Clark, Tom Waits, and Louis Armstrong. Todd Hoke is also quite fond of his mother. And fried chicken.

Todd Hoke does not sing songs about rainbows, unicorns, or dolphins. Elves nor fairies neither. It’s good to know this up front about Todd Hoke.

Todd Hoke has a peculiar fondness for his denim jacket.

Todd Hoke (the one we’re discussing here) may or may not be the Todd Hoke doing flips on a wakeboard on Youtube.

Todd Hoke finds brussels sprouts most loathsome among vegetables.

Todd Hoke donates 100% of money from his CD sales to charity. Because Todd Hoke is a very nice person. Just like his mother says.
