Call The Next Witness + John Kirby & The New Seniors + CAM GIRL
Jan 14 @ 9:00 pm
The Grey Eagle

Call the Next Witness is a rock band hailing from Asheville, NC. We like to Rock! Our members are Liam McKay on guitar and lead vox, Kelly Menace on drums & vox and Maxxx Steele on bass & vox.

JOHN KIRBY & THE NEW SENIORS

John Kirby and the New Seniors were born from fire under a full moon in the winter of 2019. The three instantly connected and vowed their allegiance to rock and roll in both form and spirit. “We get to the chorus quick.. while also sticking it to the man…”.

“Punk/metal with a bouquet of guitar based pop”, “A cross between Westerberg and Petty” and “Nicely crafted power punk”.

CAM GIRL

Rock ‘n Roll cummin’ to you live! Punk, Rock ‘N Roll, SpeedRock, Deathpunk

Are you aroused or empowered? Sex worker fronted CAM GIRL is here to make sure you’re feeling one or the other (why not both?), with two trans women active in the trans adult entertainment industry on the roster (Lily Larceny and Tsarina Eve); matched with fun, witty, yet passionate and relatable lyrics from a trans experience all to the tune of the screaming lead guitars from 19 year old HOT HANDS, you’ll never stop dancing (or jerking off?). It’s fun, it’s fast, it’s rock ‘n roll – and we LOVE IT!

An Evening With The Get Right Band
Jan 15 @ 8:00 pm
The Grey Eagle

“The Get Right Band are the type of performers that you just know will break out. Their songs are infectious and take you immediately to a place. The lyrics are smart and bear weight.” – The Huffington Post

The Get Right Band is a psychedelic indie rock power trio from Asheville, NC. They are a band focused on following their muses to honest self-expression, to whatever excites them and pushes them into unexplored territory. The Get Right Band proudly carries the torch for a long line of genre-bending power trios from Cream to The Jimi Hendrix Experience to The Police to Violent Femmes to Primus to Green Day to Nirvana to Sublime. It’s the space between the notes, the rawness and the maneuverability, that makes a power trio, well, so damn powerful.

“An ass shaking good time.” -Relix Magazine

Bill and the Belles
Jan 15 @ 8:30 pm
Isis Music Hall--The Main Stage

Happy Again isn’t exactly happy. But the delightfully deadpan new album from roots mainstays Bill and the Belles is full of life, humor, and tongue-in-cheek explorations of love and loss. Happy Again marks a new chapter for the group by featuring all original music penned by founding member Kris Truelsen. Over eleven tracks the group shows their knack for saying sad things with a bit of a smirk, and tucked amongst the grief and jubilation are some jingle-worthy oddballs for which the band is well known. The raw songcraft along with the deft production touch of Teddy Thompson gives Happy Again an emotional punch that deepens with each listen. Bill and the Belles is Truelsen on guitar, fiddler Kalia Yeagle, bassist Andrew Small, and banjo/banjo-uke player Aidan VanSuetendael. They revel in the in-between: deeply engaged with the stringband tradition and eager to stretch those influences to contemporary settings. Happy Again is the latest chapter of that ongoing story: what happens when a stringband from East Tennessee lays down a session at Motown. It’s a welcome evolution that feels familiar and timeless.

“What may be the most innovative modern interpretation of vintage roots music.” –No Depression

“Bill and the Belles is committed to helping early country music remain appreciated – not just replicated.” –Rolling Stone

“They’re a joy to watch live, and we bet you can’t make it through their set without smiling.” –The Bluegrass Situation

“Bill and the Belles’ brand of Americana oftentimes feels like it’s turning back the hands of time with their charming vintage sound.” –Pop Matters

“Bill and the Belles blend a traditional stringband sound with ’60 pop“ –Wide Open Country

“It’s Americana as dark comedy.” –Tinnitist

Sports: Get A Good Look World Tour
Jan 16 @ 8:00 pm
The Grey Eagle

Purpose is at the cornerstone of Sports’ resonance and impressive second album Get A Good Look. Childhood friends Cale Chronister and Christian Theriot have come to realize that life can change at any second. Perspectives are reshaped, relationships rise or fall, and home is anywhere you want it to be. For Sports, it’s the intricacies of their lifelong friendship, the victories and shortcomings of growing up, and the lessons learned along the way that have influenced their worldview. Growing up on the outskirts of Tulsa, Oklahoma, life for Cale and Christian revolved around watching MTV and going to church. The pair first met in middle school and formed an instant connection with both seeking to break out of the conformity of their quaint small town upbringing. “We have been making and recording music under different names since we were about 13,” they share. The genesis of Sports would come almost a decade later. On choosing the name Sports, Cale and Christian show reverence to their parents. “They’re big sports fans. It’s like we’re fulfilling some childhood dream of being in the NBA.”

Read Southall Band
Jan 18 @ 8:00 pm
The Grey Eagle

In 2015, the local songwriting scene of Stillwater, OK brought together four like-minded individuals from completely different background who wanted nothing more than to play music. Read Southall became the talk of Oklahoma after the release of his acoustic album “Six String Sorrow” in 2015 that accumulated 8 million streams in just 3 years. In 2016, Read Southall decided that a group effort was the way to proceed with his fellow band mates and the Read Southall Band officially came to light. They released “Borrowed Time” in the spring of 2017 which featured singles like “Don’t Tell Me” and “Why”, which made it inside the Top 10 on several streaming charts.

The Read Southall Band began to tour full time in 2018, leading to the release of “Live at Tower Theatre” in December.

2019 is set to be a huge year for the Oklahoma rock ’n’ roll quartet as they tour all over the USA with several acts like Whiskey Myers and Koe Wetzel.
