Tim Northern is 6’3″, 200 pounds of manly man with what is often described as an obscure sense of humor. He is articulate, smart and deceptively witty, but most importantly he’s funny. The combination of his gruff exterior and his easy on the ears style could be catastrophic, but this mixture works well.
His opening line ‘I love y’all’ leaves audiences wondering what’s next. They soon realize he’s sincere.
Tim is a regular performer on the national comedy club circuit. He performed as the opening act for Rodney Carrington in Honky Tonks all over the country from February 1999 through July 2000.
Tim performed at the Chicago Comedy Festival 2002 as part of the Fresh Mugs Showcase, and showcased for the 2003 Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival. In the spring of 2003 Tim was chosen to appear on CBS’s Star Search where he advanced to the Finals.
Also featuring Cary Goff and hosted by Becca Steinhoff

UPDATE: Ray Gun is replacing Konvoi on the bill, but this is not a bad thing! Ray Gun rules!
Killer Memphis post-punk/rock n roll comin back!
If you missed them last time, now’s your chance. They’re REALLY GOOD. Heed me.
—MODEL ZERO—
(Memphis) (members of Jack Oblivian)
They just nonchalantly shat out these demos a couple years ago like it was nothin and then came and ruled the face off everyone in attendance. Also coolest cover of a Buffalo Springfield song ever.

—RAY GUN—
Newish band on the scene with beloved Jay from Konvoi, beloved Jay’s brother, and lovely Carlos from Nashville on ever-lovin drums. They really rip and you should go see them every single time they play and I am not kidding. It’s like if “7&7 Is” was more punk and evil.

The collection features individually created and collaborative works by two artists, Seth Clark and Jason Forck. Original collages mounted to panels play off architectonic sculptures in glass and wood culminating in a cohesive body of work that explores the notion of deteriorating architecture. This event is free and open to the public.

Capture photos of your family and friends enjoying the Park and enter them into our Shades of Spring Photo Contest for a chance to win fabulous prizes. A new temporary exhibit titled “Dressing for the Occasion: Mid-Century Sandburg as Celebrity and Family Man” opens on May 13, 2019. The exhibit, which runs through October, is part of the Sandburg Home tour and features clothing and accessories from both the park’s permanent collection and loaned items from the Sandburg family.
“Dressing for the Occasion” offers visitors a window into the style, culture, and feel of mid-century America. The family’s clothing and accessories weave together the roles of Carl Sandburg as a prominent writer, celebrity, father, and husband. This temporary exhibit offers an exciting opportunity for the public to view objects that are normally in storage or in the possession of Sandburg family members. Tours of the Sandburg Home are offered daily from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. Tickets are available first come, first served, each day from the visitor information area in the ground level of the Sandburg Home.
Nearly every room in the historically furnished house museum will be included in the exhibit. Visitors will see the characteristic scarves Carl Sandburg wore as he played his guitar and sang folk songs to entertain his family and guests, the dress Lilian Sandburg wore to meet President Lyndon B. Johnson, and many other mid-century pieces worn by the Sandburgs and their daughters. Historic photographs, paired with the clothing, will provide context.

An exhibition of youth art titled “Let a Joy Keep You,” is on display from April 1 to May 31, 2019. The inspiration for the art comes from the first line of Carl Sandburg’s poem “Joy.” Each of the 70 canvases reflects how the young artists chose to interpret what joy means to them. Visitors can see the installation at the Sandburg Home when they visit. Young artists are represented from across the country and locally, including students from Sugarloaf Elementary School in Hendersonville, NC.
