Connecting remote workers to the local business community is central to the AVL Digital Nomads mission. Venture Asheville is again organizing Asheville Entrepreneur Week from 9/12 through 9/16. Our social celebration will be part of the week’s activities. No one ‘socializes’ in Asheville quite like us!
We’re going to the south slope to be close to the festivities. Our first event at Harvest Pizzeria on their rooftop bar, Alta 39. Who doesn’t love a good view of Mt. Pisgah with a cold beverage! So join us up on the top floor (aka the rooftop!), we’ll have our signature name tags to help ease introductions. Rain plan B will be across the street at Catawba Brewing.
We as remote workers are a key component in driving local economic growth, opportunities abound for us to fully participate. We hope to attract other local businesses to our event to come and see just how awesome our members really are.

Join us to break some bread at a very special Business Advisory Council meeting. This will be the first in-person BAC meeting back at our Career Center in over two years. We’d like to show our appreciation to all of you (with a small gift to all in attendance) and to talk about how building back a brighter future takes all of us.
The Business Advisory Council brings together the business community and the non-profit service provider community to network and talk about how we can all partner to help those needing employment.
Highlights of the meeting will include:
Jessica Alexander, an inspiring member of our community who exemplifies our “It Takes All of Us” focus, will share her story. Jessica’s road map to success had many stops and junctions, all requiring collaboration and partnership along the way
Appreciation for Michael Horvath from the Asheville Hotel Group, a member of the local business community who supports workforce development initiatives in Asheville with Goodwill and other partners.
Come share your stories of collaboration and partnership in our discussion. We can’t wait to see you!

Hear from residents, business owners, the City of Asheville and other community stakeholders.
Policy on Tap is the Chamber’s quarterly discussion series highlighting topics that matter to our business community with insights shared by key leaders and experts.

Join us for Western Carolinas Coaches’ monthly social event. We’re a vibrant and diverse community of coaches (executive, life, performance, career, business, etc.), and we get together for an in-person, outdoor social once a month, and virtually at least once a month.
If you’re a coach or aspiring coach, we hope you’ll join us!
We’re a subchapter of the International Coaching Federation, Charlotte; Area Chapter- a nonprofit organization.

2022 Barkyard Parties:

How it Works
Sign up to host your own remote Barkyard Party. Your event can be in the format you desire: a sit-down formal event, potluck, block party, bar, brunch, raffle, pint night, themed event, pet-friendly, kid-free, kid-friendly, etc. Team up with a friend to co-host or use a central location such as your favorite restaurant or community clubhouse. Then invite your friends to join you in honor of Blue Ridge Humane and raising funds that allow us to continue our critical work. Area businesses are encouraged to participate by donating a percentage of sales during the weekend, hosting a pet supply donation drive, or creating a party with activities, contests, or raffles to benefit Blue Ridge Humane Society.
FAQ
Can businesses participate? YES, PLEASE! If you own a business and want to throw a Barkyard Party in honor of BRHS, please do! Once again, you can host it however you want! Host a raffle, donate a percentage of sales, have a theme night or ticketed show, or just help raise awareness among your patrons that evening and collect donations!
Who can host? Anyone can host or plan an event to benefit BRHS! If you would like to make a donation “in lieu of” your gift is appreciated as well!
What are my expectations as a host?

Who can I invite? Anyone you like! Invite your pet loving friends, family, or neighbors to learn about Blue Ridge Humane and support us this year.
