Applications for the 76th Annual Asheville Holiday Parade, presented by Bojangles, are now available. The parade rolls, dances and marches through Downtown Asheville on Saturday, November 19 beginning at 11am.
Before applying please read the detailed rules and information for participants here. The parade only runs smoothly if everyone follows the rules and direction from Parade organizers.

Byer’s Precision Fabricators announced today that they have been named as a semi-finalist in the “Coolest Thing Made in NC” Competition.
The top 5 businesses in each category will be announced on September 22, when Byer’s may move on to the last round, and compete as a “Top 5” contender. The winner will be announced on October 6.
The vote tally has been reset to level the field for all semifinalists. As in the first round, the community may still only vote once a day with a valid email address.

This competition helps to highlight manufacturing in NC, a crucial key to the state’s economic success. Byer’s Precision Fabricators was opened in 1942 by Paul Byers, where he started a general sheet metal shop in Hendersonville, NC. Byer’s Sheet Metal Works quickly became one of the largest ductwork and roofing contractors in the state. The Omni Grove Park Inn, an award-winning, 513-room resort set in the idyllic Blue Ridge Mountains just minutes from downtown Asheville, N.C., is celebrating The 30th National Gingerbread House Competition™, which is the nation’s largest, hosted at the resort annually. Beginning July 6, 2022 the competition registration is officially now open here through November 14, 2022. The competition will be held and winners will be announced on November 21, 2022.
New elements for The 30th National Gingerbread House Competition™ include:
- Introduction of 10th Judge, Ashleigh Shanti, chef/owner of Good Hot Fish & 2020 James Beard finalist.
- Addition of six brand-new specialty awards and increased prizes (60% increase to years past) across the four age categories, which include Best Use of Sprinkles, Most Unique Ingredient, Longest Standing Competitor, Best Use of Color, Pop Culture Star, Most Innovative Structure, and Best Use of Spice.
- All registered competitors will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite piece of the entire competition to determine the winner of the new People’s Choice: Best in Show award.

Join Grail Moviehouse in partnership with the Magnetic Theatre for a presentation of the original 1931 FRANKENSTEIN. This classic sci-fi / horror tells the story of Henry Frankenstein, who digs up corpses in order to assemble a living being from different body parts, resulting in the famed monster, played by the legendary Boris Karloff.
A percentage of the proceeds will benefit The Magnetic Theatre and their production of THE FRANKENSTEIN RUBRICS, by local playwright David Hopes.
