TFAC invites all artists: painters, sculptors, writers, performers & more — to a casual weekly drop-in gathering on Saturday mornings at 9 AM to share your works in progress, alert others, and chat about art and what’s happening in your community. The first weekly Coffee is Saturday, August 20 at 9 am. No RSVP needed, just drop by! Free parking available on Melrose Avenue, behind and alongside TFAC.

Four women navigating middle age are thrown off course with their own personal challenges.  Join them on their journey in this funny, poignant story about aging and friendship.  Fourteen original songs will have you tapping your feet, laughing out loud and even shedding a tear. Game night is back on Saturday nights!!

Come prepared to laugh, make new friends, and most of all have fun!

We will be hosting every other Saturday (or so) at Hi-Wire RAD!

Time is 7:00PM-9:00ish

Now that its SUMMER (woohoo!!!) look for us when you first walk in. We are setup and playing outside. Even if a little rain, it’s mostly covered..

If the weather seems more on the sketchy side we can always move to the tables inside if need be.

RPB is a formidable improv comedy group consisting of Tom Chalmers, Mondy Carter, Karen Stobbe, Kim Richardson and Josh Batenhorst.

This is how it works: RPBs will ask the audience for suggestions and then they make that come to technicolor life. Get ready to be a part of the experience because this show will push the envelope of ridiculous fun.

The Perspective Café is kicking off 2023 with a classic bang! Grab your friends and join us each Sunday from 2pm to 5pm in the Perspective Café to play an assortment of board and card games. You can even bring your own favorite games from home to share with new friends.

Asheville’s best ping-pong players join Asheville’s worst table-tennis players at Sovereign Kava every Thursday at 7 p.m. to battle for glory and a $50 bar tab. No charge.
Whether you learned to play in the basement as a kid, or in a prison as a young adult, or in a rehab facility as an older adult, this is the tournament for you.
Located just down the hill on the Asheville-side of Mission Hospital, we are convenient walking distance to medical help after you get your heart broken on our Butterfly table.
Bring your paddle or borrow one of ours. Open to all skill levels and clothing styles. Beginners welcome. Hell, we’re ALL rusty after not playing during the Pandemic so don’t let that stop you.
Our table-tennis table is open for play 7 days a week, noon to 11 p.m. unless there’s a music event.

Freshen Up Comedy Showcase is the first monday of every month. The showcase highlights the best local comics from the Freshen Up Open Mic that happens every Monday at Noble Cider downtown.

Local comics come out each week to try all of their new material and the best come back for the showcase.

Great news for poets and poetry lovers: Dark City Poet’s Society is returning to the Black Mountain Library. DCPS is a completely free poetry group that is open to poets of all ages and experience levels. Join us at the Black Mountain Library from 6-7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month for our (respectful) critique group. Asheville’s longest running comedy open mic happening every Wednesday night. The show starts at 8:00, and there is no cover. Anyone wanting to perform can sign up starting at 7pm and will get four minutes on stage. Local and not-so-local, professional and not-so-professional comics perform or just anyone wanting to get up in front of people and try to make them laugh. Always fun. Always free.

JAMES ADOMIAN is a comedian and actor who is well known for his standup, characters and impressions. He can be seen in David Cross’ feature directorial debut HITS, and in forthcoming feature films LOVE AFTER LOVE and ADVENTURES OF DRUNKY. He has guest starred on Comedy Central’s @MIDNIGHT, THE MELTDOWN and DRUNK HISTORY, on Adult Swim’s CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL and on IFC’s COMEDY BANG! BANG! as a variety of guest characters. As Bernie Sanders, James is one-half of TRUMP VS. BERNIE, a comedy debate act that includes a memorable guest appearance on Comedy Central and two TV specials for Fusion, along with a live international tour in 2016.

James performed standup on JOHN OLIVER’S NEW YORK STAND UP SHOW on Comedy Central, and on NBC’s LAST COMIC STANDING where he was a Top 10 finalist. James has also performed to much acclaim over the years at the JUST FOR LAUGHS Festival in Montreal and many other top comedy festivals. He works as a voiceover artist on numerous animated shows including Disney’s FUTURE WORM and Nickelodeon’s PIG GOAT BANANA CRICKET. He is also a beloved regular guest on the Earwolf podcast network, where his debut standup comedy album LOW HANGIN FRUIT was released in 2012.
