The story revolves around the central character, Richard Hannay, who inadvertently gets tangled in a mysterious web of spies, murder, and love. Remarkably, the entire riveting narrative unfolds through the talents of just four actors, who collectively portray over 150 characters, masterfully switching roles with lightning speed. Brimming with clever references to Hitchcock’s filmography, wry British humor, and ingeniously crafted theatrical inventiveness, The 39 Steps promises a rollicking evening of entertainment that leaves audiences on the edge of their seats.
A talkback with the cast & crew of The 39 Steps will be held following the performances on June 23rd and 30th.
David Spade became a household favorite during his tenure as a cast member on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live”. For his memorable role as Dennis Finch, the wise-cracking, power-hungry assistant on “Just Shoot Me”, Spade received nominations for a 1999 Emmy Award, Golden Globe, and American Comedy
Award. He continues to be a box office draw, touring his stand-up shows nationwide. His most recent stand-up special “Nothing Personal” debuted on Netflix in 2022.

Kim Drye (she/her) is a highly experienced and skilled yoga instructor with a passion for promoting alignment, therapeutic healing, and restorative practices. She is the proud owner of West Asheville Yoga, where she leads classes and fosters a welcoming environment. Kim’s teaching style revolves around themed slow flows, incorporating detailed technique and alignment breakdowns to enhance her students’ understanding.

Asheville’s longest running comedy open mic happening every Wednesday night. The show starts at 8:00, and there is no cover. Anyone wanting to perform can sign up starting at 7pm, and will get four minutes on stage. Now’s your chance to bring the whole family on the big purple bus! Educational and entertaining, LaZoom’s Kids’ Comedy tour features a perfect blend of Asheville information and kid-centric comedy. Geared specifically towards the 5-12 year old crowd, you’ll learn about our city’s history and see the sights in true LaZoom style – complete with our famously outlandish tour guides, hilarious comedy skits, and all sorts of special appearances! Perfect for birthday parties or school field trips, it’s the best thing to do with your kids in Asheville. It’s a show on wheels!
The tour is 60 minutes long and includes no stops. The tour is hosted by a zany tour guide, and along the way other characters will hop on the bus and perform kid-centric sketches (Candy Pirate, Ninja, and a Levitator) The tour is not only fun – it’s educational! Kids and adults will learn new and interesting facts about Asheville along the way. There must be 1 adult for every 4 children. We do not allow any unaccompanied children. Clark Jones has been listed as one of the top 11 comedians by BET.com and his standup has appeared on HBO’s “Crashing”, “Night Train with Wyatt Cenac” on Starz, and the “2 Dope Queens” podcast. While in New York he has hosted the lauded Comedy at the Knitting Factory, been named one of Brooklyn’s 50 funniest people, and performed in sketches for Comedy Central and Amanda Seales’ popular Get Your Life web series. Clark was also a recurring character on FOX NFL Sunday’s pregame show and recorded stand-up on season 9 of Comedy Central’s “Feature” series.
His debut album “First of All” reached the top spot in its week’s release and is streaming on all networks and he recently wrote on season 1 of “Run the World” on the Starz network.

The story revolves around the central character, Richard Hannay, who inadvertently gets tangled in a mysterious web of spies, murder, and love. Remarkably, the entire riveting narrative unfolds through the talents of just four actors, who collectively portray over 150 characters, masterfully switching roles with lightning speed. Brimming with clever references to Hitchcock’s filmography, wry British humor, and ingeniously crafted theatrical inventiveness, The 39 Steps promises a rollicking evening of entertainment that leaves audiences on the edge of their seats.
