The tour is 60 minutes long and includes no stops. The tour is hosted by a zany tour guide, and along the way other characters will hop on the bus and perform kid-centric sketches (Candy Pirate, Ninja, and a Levitator) The tour is not only fun – it’s educational! Every Sunday Modelface Comedy brings you the best comedians from all over the country. This weekend we have Lydia Popovich from Nashville!!!

Lydia Popovich originally hails from San Jose, CA but currently lives in Nashville, TN. Her anecdotal humor and vivid storytelling make her a unique voice in a sea of dick jokes. On stage, she is a force to be reckoned with bringing energy and unparalleled confidence to each performance. She’s a featured performer at Improv Comedy Clubs, Laugh Factory Comedy Clubs, Punch Line SF, Punch Line Sacramento, Cobb’s Comedy Club and Zanies Comedy Clubs. Her comedy can be heard on popular comedy podcasts The Daily Zeitgeist (iheartmedia), Celebrity Book Club, What Up Fool? with Felipe Esparza (ATC) and The Dork Forest (ATC). She’s performed at festivals like Oddball Comedy & Curiosity, SF Sketchfest and Netflix is a Joke Festival. Lydia tours nationally and internationally having performed as far away as Singapore, Berlin and London. Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters once touched her arm and said, “Hey, you’re pretty funny!” The only things that bring her more joy than comedy are Dolly Parton and brunch.

Do you love fishing? Are you new to it or curious about learning how? Come fishing with Chimney Rock Park Rangers on Lake Lure at Morse Park and learn how to tie knots, cast, and start fishing. Please note that we are limited to loaner 20 poles. Feel free to bring your own tackle and poles as long as it is in good working order.

Meet at Morse Park in Lake Lure. Parking available at the Lake Lure Marina and public parking in Lake Lure. Admission to the Chimney Rock State Park is not required for this event.

The Asheville Downtown Association is thrilled to announce the return of the beloved Pritchard Park Arts and Culture Series, made possible through a generous partnership with the Trina Mullen Foundation, City of Asheville Parks and Recreation, ArtsAVL, and Explore Asheville. Standup Comedy featuring Sarah Love On Wednesday July 24, 7-9p we will be having another professional comedy open mic in The Orange Peel’s comedy basement. PULP is a bourbon speakeasy (400+ varieties) located under the iconic stage. No food is served but we do have free snacks while they last and outside food is permitted (no drinks of any kind). Featuring Sarah Love, also known as “Ingles Laura Lynn Sarah Silverman”, is a comedian from Asheville, North Carolina. She is wry yet kinetic. Provocative yet relatable. She can’t wait for you to see her.
Host is Hilliary Begley voted repeatedly Asheville’s Favorite comic in the Mountain Xpress. Film debut in the Netflix original Dumplin’ as Aunt Lucy, or “Jennifer Anniston’s fat sister,” and Austin Film Festival winning movie When We Last Spoke with Cloris Leachman, now streaming on Amazon Prime.

Asheville’s longest running comedy open mic happening every Wednesday night. The show starts at 8:00, and there is no cover. Anyone wanting to perform can sign up starting at 7pm, and will get four minutes on stage. Beginner’s workshop lesson at 7:30 P.M., then 8-11 P.M. Contra Dance with Country Waltzing at the break and the final dance. This is a partner dance but it’s not necessary to come with a partner. We have different live bands and callers.

Ryan Beck is a Lebanese American filmmaker and comedian based in New York City. He has written and produced his award winning directorial debut short “A Few Days Home In Johnson County” (2023), as well as his web series “#RyanBeckShow” (2015), the critically acclaimed interactive short film “We Need To Talk” (2016)

Ryan is a regular at the Comedy Cellar in New York City and his stand up has been featured on Comedy Central. In 2022, Ryan released his debut special “You Can Do Anything” with 800 Pound Gorilla Records. Ryan is a former digital creator for Comedy Central and has appeared on MTV’s Girl Code, Comedy Central’s Alternatino, This Week At The Comedy Cellar, and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Ryan was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and is a graduate of the University of Missouri.

Birding: For the birdwatchers, there will be monthly bird excursions at Lake Julian Park. The birding events will occur at 8:30 a.m. on the last Saturday of every month from March through October. These events allow participants to enjoy the beautiful sights and sounds of various avian species in Buncombe county. Fun fact: Lake Julian Park is home to a successfully paired eagle couple that has raised at least 6 eaglets over the past 3 years! Admission is free. Pre-registration is required.
