EAST COAST SWING: LEVEL-ONE BEGINNER, 1½ – Hour Class
Saturday, November 19th, 11 to 12:30 pm. at The Grey Eagle Music Hall, 185 Clingman Ave., Asheville. Learn this popular, fun dance. We start with the basic step and progress to foundational steps and a few cool moves. Taught by UCWDC World Champions Richard & Sue Cicchetti. Richard is a DVIDA Certified Dance Instructor. You will learn correctly from his clear instructions. With Richard’s progressive method you will learn how to remember steps and how to transition seamlessly from one step to the next. A European inspired production that brings all of Clara’s adventures and excitement home to Greenville. Continuing the reinvented holiday classic, this production highlights Victorian societal expectations and prosperity while Clara and her beloved Nutcracker dance their way through the cherished landmarks and stunning scenery of Greenville and into the hearts of the audience.
The libretto is adapted from E.T. A. Hoffmann’s classic story, The Nutcracker and the Mouse King. Choreographed by Hernan Justo, the refreshed ballet is based on the original Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov ballet.

Asheville Humane Society and some of our most loyal supporters are joining forces to convince Santa to take some much needed time off before the busy season to come down and spend some time with pet families in our area. Santa will be taking pictures with pets, kids, families, friends, and anyone interested, in order to raise money for the pets in need in Buncombe County. Participating in this event gets you a professionally taken/edited digital photo of your pet (etc.) with Santa, a keepsake Polaroid photo, one on one time with Santa, and entries to win giveaway prizes from our supporting venues. Support AHS by participating in this heartwarming, family centered event series! Special appearances by The Grinch at several locations! Join Santa at the Ginger’s Revenge Riverside Tasting Room to sample the flavors of the season! The brewers over at Ginger’s Revenge are always cooking up new seasonal flare and they have something special in store for Santa!
Join us in our new monthly social swing event on the 1st Saturdays of every month, The
music, open vintage space and wood floors and is guaranteed to have you dancing East Coast and/or Lindy all night long, A free
lesson is offered to kick things off and will include a different combination of moves each time, No partner or rhythm needed and
dress is casual, $10 for lesson and/or social dance.
