Departure Points: Join the Hop-On/Hop-Off Tour at any of the 10 stops. If you’re driving in to join the tour, Stop 1, the Asheville Visitor Center may be your best option. The Visitor Center, located at 36 Montford Ave. just off I-240 at Exit 4C, offers free parking (on a first come-first served basis) and restrooms. The Asheville Visitor Center is the ONLY place to join the Overview Tour.

Now’s your chance to bring the whole family on the big purple bus! Educational and entertaining, LaZoom’s Kids’ Comedy tour features a perfect blend of Asheville information and kid-centric comedy. Geared specifically towards the 5-12 year old crowd, you’ll learn about our city’s history and see the sights in true LaZoom style – complete with our famously outlandish tour guides, hilarious comedy skits, and all sorts of special appearances! Perfect for birthday parties or school field trips, it’s the best thing to do with your kids in Asheville. It’s a show on wheels!
The tour is 60 minutes long and includes no stops. The tour is hosted by a zany tour guide, and along the way other characters will hop on the bus and perform kid-centric sketches (Candy Pirate, Ninja, and a Levitator) The tour is not only fun – it’s educational! Kids and adults will learn new and interesting facts about Asheville along the way. There must be 1 adult for every 4 children. We do not allow any unaccompanied children. Children 3 and under do not need a ticket if they are sitting in an adults lap.

Join us for weekly workdays in the Sand Hill native tree nursery. Tasks vary and often include repotting, weeding, mulching, and other special projects to improve infrastructure and function.

Please come dressed in work clothes with close toed shoes. Bring water and sun protection. All other gear and supplies are provided.

Organizing a litter cleanup with your friends, neighbors, co-workers, or other community members is easier than you may think! Asheville GreenWorks provides cleanup supplies and safety information, and will coordinate trash pick up as needed. Available supplies include safety vests, gloves, trash grabbers, trash bags, and SHARPs containers (upon request).

Old Town Tour Takes Participants on a Journey Through Swannanoa History |

| Join the Swannanoa Valley Museum on Wednesday, June 12, for a walking tour of “The Station,” a once-thriving downtown area that was bordered by the Beacon Blanket mill and the railroad tracks. Swannanoa’s bustling downtown district included cafes, grocery stores, a drug store, a bank, a movie theater, a five-and-dime, and other variety stores.
This tour will explore the history of the Beacon Mill and the many commercial establishments that served the thousands of residents who worked there through the years. Participants will also learn about the exciting developments at the mill site and in the old downtown today. The tour begins at 9:30 am. Cost is $35, with a $10 discount for museum members. YAC aims to bring together service providers who work with youth (13-24 years old) to encourage networking, collaboration, and awareness.
The goal of the YAC is to bring together service providers who work with youth/young adults (13-24 years old) to encourage networking, collaboration, and awareness. Come as your schedule allows and invite peers who can benefit from attending.
We will meet monthly on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 9-10am. Meetings will take place at the Goodwill Career Center at 1616 Patton Avenue unless an alternate location is communicated.

A morning tour on select Wednesdays and Fridays going to 2 studios – which will always include 1 private glass studio and 1 art studio in a different medium (such as pottery, fiber, books, sculpture, etc). These will be pre-arranged studio visits – not customized with the participant. Time frame: 9:30a to 12 ~ 12:15p.
Inspired by the Chihuly at Biltmore glass exhibit, this new tour will give participants a chance to meet a local glass artist along with another professional artist in a different medium. Glass studios included will feature: cast glass, blown glass or cold formed glass. Glass artists will be one of the following: Alex Bernstein, Carl Powell, Brad Smith, Robert Stephan or Hayden Wilson.
Dates for the first half of the year are: April 5, 10, 19; May 8, 17, 22; June 12, 14, 21, 26; July 5, 10, 19, 24, 26.
AND If you are a glass collector, or have special interest in meeting more of the regions incredible glass artists, private customized tours are available to book.

Need to know
Please dress to get wet and dirty. Shorts, bathing suits, and other lightweight clothing, water shoes or old sneakers. No heavy clothing, flip flops, or slides. Bring water and sun protection. All other gear and supplies will be provided. Parking will be available at Amboy River Park.
This year’s election will be won by mobilizing voters who want to preserve our democracy and protect the rights of our citizens. Our phone bankers will be reaching out to likely supporters in your precincts who don’t vote on a regular basis. We will also be making separate calls in your precincts to recruit more volunteers for our efforts.
IF YOU HAVE A LAPTOP, PLEASE BE SURE TO BRING IT TO THE PHONE BANK. If you don’t have one, just be sure you bring your personal email login information (User ID & password) and you can use one of our Chromebooks. If you’ve canvassed or phone banked for Democrats in the past, you likely have an Action ID account, so please be sure to bring that login information as well. Of course, you will also need your cell phone.
Phone banking remains one of the best practices for winning elections and our phone banks are designed to reach those voters who rarely pick up their calls. We’ll leave a message on their voice mail, then also text them the same message. When someone does pick up their call, you’ll possibly have a lively conversation because we are targeting supporters!
Election Day is getting close and the pace of Get Out The Vote is ramping up. Let’s get prepared now and create a well-organized plan of action. Don’t wait until September. Start now to plan, design, and map the next 4 months.
Led by professional trainer Barrie Barton, this “facilitated work-session” leads you through Map Your Year, a step-by-step approach to plan months ahead. To receive the greatest benefit from this 1.5-hr. workshop, we encourage county leadership teams or the 3 precinct officers and key volunteers from your precinct to attend. By the end of this facilitated work session, your team will leave with goals, strategies and actions to make 2024 a successful year.

How it Works: The show’s Headliner will be selected by the paid audience in an anonymous ballet after all comics perform their sets.
Audience will write down their favorite top comic of the evening who will be paid & brought back to headline the end of the show with a closing 10m set! They will automatically be entered into a Feature headlining show to battle for Asheville title at plēb urban winery on June 21!
All standup comics are invited to be on the show as long as there is still room available. There is no cost to performing comics. Comics should have 3-1/2m of material and be prepared for an additional 10m. They will be invited to be a paid feature on the final battle with grand cash prize.
