Spice up your evening with globally-influenced Creole cuisine from Sue Zemanick, of Zasu in New Orleans. Melissa Martin, author of Mosquito Supper Club, joins the party for this Chefs in the House Dinner at Half-Mile Farm. Zasu’s culinary goal is to explore new ways to inspire traditional favorites by allowing fresh ingredients to speak for themselves. At Zasu, you will find a mix of local and non-native ingredients, creating a unique dining experience that is clean and light, yet rich in experience.
Sue was named Executive Chef at Gautreau’s Restaurant in 2005, which led to national recognition – including being named 2013 “Best Chef, South” by the James Beard Foundation and “Top Ten Best New Chef” by Food & Wine Magazine in 2008. She was also a featured guest at many food festivals, such as the South Beach and Charleston Food and Wine Festivals, Sun Valley Vintner’s Festival, and Chef’s Club St. Regis Aspen. She has made regular television appearances, as a judge on Top Chef New Orleans and as a contestant on seasons 3 and 5 of Top Chef Masters. But to this day, her all-time favorite distinction was serving as the 2015 Honorary Muse in New Orleans’ premier all-female Mardi Gras parade, Muses.
Price: $165 per person, plus tax and gratuity.
Five local chefs are teaming up for the Fall Harvest Revival to benefit nonprofit Bounty & Soul. The 5 course meal includes optional wine pairings

Full Moon Farm is an organization dedicated to the well being of the wolfdog (wolf hybrid). Situated on 17 beautiful mountain acres in Black Mountain, NC, we operate as a federally recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization for abused and refused wolfdogs who find themselves in need of love, shelter, and care through no fault of their own.
Full Moon Farm provides a safe haven for animals that cannot be placed into homes for the rest of their lives. Our rescued wolfdogs come from animal control agencies, closed breeding situations and occasionally, an owner in crisis. We evaluate each animal upon intake and work with them at their level of comfort.
Some animals are “hands off” and we respect their choice, as well as that of the animals that crave human interaction. Our goal is to enrich the lives of the residents, allowing them to reach their highest potential. Your support by donation or sponsorship makes our task possible.
Though they may be abused or neglected, homeless because of death or divorce, they are all God’s Creatures and worthy of a lifetime of respect. We are here to serve them.

Over the past 4 months these two have been exploring the common ground of a lifetime of musical experiences. Influences from musics of the British Isles, Turkey, India, China and some places in between.
Can’t wait to hear what happens when Local Live host Jay Brown joins in with them.

The YMI is a local landmark within the City of Asheville, North Carolina and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Their founders, Mr. Isaac Dickson, the first person of color appointed to the Asheville City School Board, and Dr. Edward Stephens, principal of Asheville’s first public school for African American students, envisioned an organization similar to a YMCA to support Asheville’s African-American community.
The YMI Cultural Center offers educational, cultural, civic and social activities, leadership and economic development programs. Sean K. Preston is an internationally touring artist from Baltimore, MD. The band’s album “Forgive” was released on Rusty Knuckles Music and the band currently on tour, sharing their raucous honkytonk, dirty blues, roadhouse rock ‘n’ roll, and tear jerking country balladry.
The music of Sean K. Preston draws heavily on the influences of the classic heartbroken sounds of Country & Western music from the 1940’s – 1970’s, the honesty of the Blues by the likes of Robert Johnson and John Lee Hooker, the bombast of 50’s Rock’n’Roll, the lyrical sophistication of musical poets like Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan and Nick Cave, the raw energy of Punk, and the spirituality of Mountain Gospel. His own songs range from delicate laments and lullabies to fiery sermons and confessions.

Dust off your thinking caps, grab your friends, and join us for Trivia Night at the taproom every Wednesday at 6pm!

General Admission Standing Show :: Some Balcony Seating :: Tickets are available on line. Dinner is available in the dining room prior to the show. Please call the venue for dinner reservations. 828-575-2737
