The Education program at Flat Rock Playhouse is undergoing a name change! We are excited to streamline our program and we can’t wait to share the news with you!
Our new name will be Playhouse Jr.!

This new name will encompass many things. You might ask….what is Playhouse Jr.?
Playhouse Jr. means many things and we are excited to share this news with our community!

We are introducing a new software system for our Playhouse Jr. families! This new system will make your life easier! Once you have registered you are in our system for good. That means that once you register all you have to do is access your account to purchase any classes and camps moving forward. No need to register every time!
To register for our new system and to enroll in classes please visit this link: https://app.jackrabbitclass.com/regv2.asp?id=548849
Questions? Please email [email protected]!
Want to register over the phone? No problem! You can call our Education Director, Lauren Hopkins at (828)693-0403 ext. 246 starting Monday March 6!
We need your help to get this built – it will be a volunteer-built park October 4-8, 2023.

Before the build dates it will take a lot of coordination – we’re looking for a few good people to help as:
Childcare Coordinators – providing supervision and fun activities for kids during construction
Food Coordinators – acquiring food from the community for each day of the build
Want to help? Know someone who might be able to help with one of these coordinator positions? Email: [email protected] or call David Rodgers 828.545.9571
In mid-May we will have a design similar to the former playground to present to the community.
Donate to help build the park!
There will be a transaction fee of 2.89% plus .30 USD for PayPal transactions. For transactions of $500 or more the Asheville City Schools Foundation (ACSF) strongly recommends checks or wire transfers. Cats at Play is Asheville’s very first cat café, which includes a one-of-a-kind rescue lounge as a feline foster home where visitors can enjoy meeting adorable {and adoptable} cats from Brother Wolf Animal Rescue and Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue.
Whilst petting the cutest cats, visitors can also sip local drinks and try delicious snacks, including pastries, cookies and gelato. Cats at Play also includes a boutique with cat-themed apparel, gifts décor and art from local artisans.
Lisa Fox, Co-Owner of Cats at Play, states that “we chose this business model so that we can positively impact the homeless cat population in our community and beyond as well as give back to the animal rescue organizations who work so hard for animals in need. Admission fees to visit our rescue lounge will help us care for our foster kitties and 100% of adoption fees will go directly to our rescue partners.”
