Women of the Pacific Northwest celebrates the voices, visions and material mastery of female artists working today, with roots from this rich and progressive region. Through the execution of disparate media from bronze, steel, glass, tin, plaster, mylar, printmaking, hair nets, cloth, rubber, wax to paint, these artists have achieved inventive, creative practices originating from critical, generative, inquisition of natural, social or subliminal forces. This exhibition highlights a group of female artists working in diverse media creating art that explores connections to place, whether sociological, environmental or spiritual, in a region supportive of equality, ecology and enterprise. These artists are among today’s pioneers, interpreting universality through personal observation and inventing poetic, transcendent works inspiring greater, pluralistic understanding, connecting us to one another and to the world around us.

Created by Asheville Plays and hosted by the Adventure Center of Asheville, this immersive journey guides guests through the Kingdom of Winterland, where each page of the story comes to life with delightful characters and heartwarming surprises. This family-friendly event has been created with everyone in minde, no matter your age or what you may celebrate during the winter holiday season. Winter Wonder Walk includes the outdoor storywalk, a heated holiday tent featuring a local vendor market, a kids’ play area, and several tasty concession and beverage options. Guests ages 4+ can also enjoy the Treetops Adventure Park Glow Trail, aglow with thousands of twinkling lights. On weekdays from December 1 through 19, the farm will host daytime Christmas tours. Guided tours are at 10:30 AM each day. While drop-ins are allowed, those with reservations take priority, so please consider making reservations. Guided daytime tours are $15 for adults, $10 for students and seniors (65+), and free for those 4 and under. Groups of 10 and more can schedule a private guided tour on any weekday at 1:30 PM. Group rates are $8 a person for afternoon private tours.
For those that do not want to take a guided tour, on Fridays December 5, 12, 19, the farm house will be open for self-guided tours from 1-3 PM. Reservations are not needed for the self-guided tours, and tickets cost $5 for all.

Asheville watercolor artist Natalie Ray invites you to an intimate evening celebrating her newest collection, “Born in France,” a one-night-only pop-up exhibition at The Studio on Wall Street in downtown Asheville. Guests will enjoy refreshments and the opportunity to experience the paintings and prints Natalie created during her artist residency in France this summer.
The collection captures the timeless charm and quiet beauty of the French countryside, gardens, and châteaux that inspired her time abroad. Each watercolor reflects a story of discovery, connection, and artistic growth, inviting viewers to wander through landscapes infused with light, memory, and the romance of place.
Attendees will have the chance to meet the artist, hear about her creative journey in France, and view both original works and limited-edition prints available exclusively during this event.
About the Artist
Natalie Ray is a watercolor and 24-karat gold artist based in Asheville, North Carolina. Her work is celebrated for its ethereal light, layered emotion, and storytelling through color. She began painting while living in Barcelona, Spain in 2003–2004 and has since studied under internationally recognized artists within Asheville’s River Arts District. Today she creates from her home studio, where she lives with her husband, musician Justin Ray, and their three children.

“Bakers of every age are encouraged to create their best gingerbread man or woman, boy or girl! We are looking for the most artistic creations the entrants can cook up,” said Barbara Hughes, owner of Narnia Studios. There are four categories: traditional, unusual, bakers under 14 and teamwork”, added Hughes.
The rules are simple: they must be 100% edible and the deadline for entries is December 1, 2025. We will announce the winners during our 29th Annual Christmas Open House on December 2nd and have all the cookies on display throughout that weekend. The December exhibit in the Art Place Gallery features “Wonder,” an exhibition of work by sculptor Susan Smith Perry, a South Carolina-based artist. For this exhibition, Perry will transform bamboo and handmade paper into a kinetic sculptural installation. In addition, artwork from local artists, representing a variety of media will be exhibited.
The Art Place Gallery in downtown Hendersonville holds an opening reception for its monthly exhibits on the first Friday of every month. The gallery is a dynamic visual arts center managed by members of the Art League of Henderson County.
