~Stories of Transitions~
Hello Ladies!
Join us for a night of Women celebrating Women!
For the past 18 months, a small group of Asheville women has been gathering as an “Intergenerational Women’s Group”, discussing the transitions of life from the Maiden, to the Mother, to the Crone. Sharing and listening to stories helps all women connected more deeply and reflect on their own lives.
Now we gather as a larger community of women with the intention of supporting ~Wombs of the World~, a new Asheville based project intended to connect birth doulas and international birthing clinics to support compassionate, respectful and empowered transitions from Pregnancy to Parenthood. To learn more about their mission and vision please check out the website at http://www.wombsoftheworld.com
We invite you to join us at Sunnyside Trading Co’s new location in The Foundation for a ladies night out! Drinks, music, and bites will be provided, and women will be welcome and encouraged to share any Story of Transition.
It is a safe and inviting space, for all humans who identify as women. Please invite your friends!
Fundraising from this evening will go towards ~Wombs of the World’s~ project in Tanzania, Africa. Partnering with Asheville/Tanzania non-profit SAFE WATER NOW, They hope to provide the birthing clinics with cleaner water solutions for staff and mothers, as well as financially support a women-run soap making collective in Tanzania by BOMA LA MAMA. Their goal is to offer new mothers and babies a safe and clean start to life.

8ARM, one of Atlanta Magazine’s 50 Best Restaurants in Atlanta, and some of our favorite pals, are descending on MG Road for one night of a complete food & drink takeover on November 14th.
?Full kitchen takeover from 8ARM Executive Chef Keith Remes
?Full bar takeover by 8ARM Beverage Director Joshua Fryer
8ARM core crew of Skip Engelbrecht, George Long, and Nhan Le in tow.
Food from 7pm – til it’s out and Steadylove 90’s cyberpunk dance party to follow from 10pm – late.
About 8ARM: In 2017, the morning-to-late-night restaurant was taken over by chef Keith Remes and beverage director Joshua Fryer, absorbing and reflecting the frisson of its neighborhood the same way co-owner Nhan Le and Brown’s first restaurant, Octopus Bar, does with the devil-may-care energy of East Atlanta Village. Basically, 8Arm is an extremely cool place run by extremely cool people that do extremely cool things. Check the m out here: http://www.8armatl.com

Finally after the calls have been getting louder and louder we will be coming on our US & Canada Tour this Fall and tour our brand new Lose Your Ties Show all across the continent also coming to you at The Grey Eagle!
Lose Your Ties is not only the tales of experience past, but the start of our new journey. As the main theme of the album it represents our story. Risking the safety of home and job to follow a passionate dream – experiencing new cultures (specifically their music), and enhancing their repertoire. While our specific dream is important, Lose Your Ties applies to everyone in a general sense. It’s about identifying what you want, then finding your obstacles, and setting yourself free from all that holds you back from living your dreams.
In the name of sacrifice and hope our Lose Your Ties Release Tour will serenade through USA and Canada tying together the last three years of travel and their individual development within their respective musical journeys.
Common passions replace old careers and have brought us together. Inspired by our encounters and new cultures our songs resemble a musical compass. Together we are trying to conquer the world with our music.
„Music from everywhere for everyone“.
Through our art of storytelling, we invite you to join us on a cultural and geographical expedition.

Session Americana (Boston) is a rock band in a tea cup, or possibly a folk band in a whiskey bottle. This band/collective of talented musicians craft an musical experience unlike any other. On stage is a collapsible bar table wired with microphones, a vintage suitcase recast as a kick drum, an old Estey field organ, a pre-war parlor guitar, a mandocello and all of its smaller siblings, a harmonica case fire damaged when Jack’s bar went up in flames and graffitied by Depeche Mode roadies, and an assortment of other instruments that get passed around in this freewheeling modern hootenanny. The anything-could-happen feel of a Session show depends on craft that’s not accidental or easily won; they bring a kind of ease and genuineness to this timeless music, sometimes presenting the latest batch of original songs, sometimes reaching back into depths of the American “song bag”..

As we opened our doors in 2014 with 280 students, we had a vision to start a school that created innovators in an academically challenging learning environment. Our students would become problem solvers and great citizens while achieving academic success. Today we are realizing that vision. We have grown to 520 students, graduated our first class of seniors, and have broken ground on our permanent building. Reclaimed Creations is a unique sculpture exhibit created by renowned artist Sayaka Ganz. Utilizing reclaimed plastic objects, such as discarded utensils, Ganz creates amazing sculptures that visually appear unified at a distance, but are in fact separated when examined up close. Described as using a “3D impressionistic” style, Ganz’s exhibit includes installations of animals in motion, which are in rich in color and energy, to create an illusion of form.
About the Artist
Born in Yokohama, Japan, Sayaka Ganz grew up living in Japan, Brazil and Hong Kong. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in sculpture from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. A lecturer and teacher, Ganz’s work has been displayed at various institutions around the globe, including the Hermann Geiger Foundation in Cecina, Italy, the Isle Gallery in Isle of Man, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California.
My work is about perceiving harmony, even in situations that appear chaotic from the inside. When observing my sculptures up close, one might see gaps, holes and items being held on only by small points; step away, however, and the sculptures reveal the harmony created when the objects are aligned to the same general (but not identical) direction. Similarly, it is important to gain perspective by stepping back from current problems and look at the larger picture. Then one can perceive the beauty and patterns that exist.”
