Join the Growing Minds team and school gardeners from across North Carolina and the Appalachian region for a virtual school garden meet-up. Network with other school gardeners, share tips for maintaining school gardens throughout the summer months, and discuss plans for fall. We’ll kick off the meeting by hearing updates from a couple of school gardens in our region, Verner Center for Early Learning and WD Williams Elementary, then move into break-out rooms for small group discussions. If there are topics or questions you’d like the Growing Minds team to address during the meet-up, please email them in advance to [email protected].
Despite cinemas being shut, Bicycle Film Festival returns to Asheville, NC with a curated virtual screening of
short films. Hosted by Asheville on Bikes. Available from June 4 – 14.
Bicycle Film Festival celebrates the bicycle through a virtual festival program, specifically curated for Asheville.
A portion of all ticket sales goes to support Asheville on Bikes.
BFF Asheville #2 is presenting an international selection of the most important short films from the BFF
collection. A diverse curation of filmmaking styles: narratives, documentaries, international award-winning
filmmakers, and emerging directors all share equal billing.
Bicycle Film Festival plays an important role in creating an eco-friendly society and bringing diverse
communities together.
BFF Founding Director Brendt Barbur added: “In a year of a global pandemic, economic strife, a
contentious political period the bicycle boom worldwide is optimistic news to celebrate. We hope to

Instruction covers learning about air plants, care tips, design principles, and more. A gift box and care instructions are included to ensure your success. Participants are welcome to bring (waterproof) figurines or other design additions that they’d like to incorporate into their terrarium.

We are hosting a virtual screening of Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson’s (The Roots) debut film documentary SUMMER OF SOUL (…OR, WHEN THE REVOLUTION COULD NOT BE TELEVISED), the winner of both the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award at Sundance Film Festival, as part of our “Connecting Beyond: A Digital Journey and Celebration of Creativity, Learning, and Connection” 2021 program.
The exclusive screening will take place on June 25 at 7:00pm ET, prior to the film’s worldwide premiere in theaters and streaming on Hulu on July 2. In addition to the screening, guests will also experience a Filmmaker Q&A Panel Event featuring soul music icon Gladys Knight and the Film’s Producers Robert Fyvolent and David Dinerstein. Join us for a mini film festival on Sunday July 11th at 4pm at Rabbit Rabbit! Films will focus on Black and minority architects and explore some of the social constructs that have created our current world. We hope to open the conversation between the public and architects and explore the role architecture can play in justice, equity diversity and inclusion.
