Hendersonville Racquet Club (HRC) is excited to announce its Summer Tennis Camp dates for 2025, an action-packed program designed for kids ages 5-18. Whether they’re new to tennis or seasoned players, campers will enjoy top-quality instruction, fun activities, and plenty of summer excitement!

Hendersonville Racquet Club is a ten acre complex that includes 5 outdoor pickleball courts, 6 outdoor tennis courts, 3 indoor tennis courts, four indoor pickleball courts, three racquetball courts, an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, group fitness classes, and outdoor leisure area by Shaw’s Creek and pond. Kanuga is thrilled to announce the return of its Summer Day Camps for rising first through sixth graders, with five weeklong sessions planned for June and July 2025, at its Bob Campbell Youth Campus. Registration is now open.
In the serene mountains of Western North Carolina, campers will find fun and adventure in action-packed sessions staffed by well-trained, compassionate adults who specialize in keeping young children safe, entertained and engaged. Kanuga’s wooded campus offers children the opportunity to play, explore, swim in mountain lakes, hike to scenic vistas, paddle canoes, create arts and crafts and so much more.
Mondays through Fridays, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. $400–$460.

Join us Saturday, July 26th, for the Apple Ridge Relay, a newly launched relay and lap-format race at Stepp’s Hillcrest Orchard in Hendersonville, NC!
Run through scenic trails, mowed grass, and forested roads in the heart of apple country, and celebrate your finish with refreshing apple cider slushies. Whether you’re teaming up with friends for the relay or going solo in the lap option, it’s bound to be a summer morning to remember.

Prefer to participate on your own? Join in on the fun as an individual and take on a timed challenge! Choose your overall distance on our 2-mile loop—do one lap or keep going for up to 4 hours. It’s your race, your rhythm!

The North Carolina Writers Network and The Brandy Bar + Cocktails present
JENNIFER McGAHA as next in their series “In the Company of Writers”
The program offers a series of personal and conversational dialogues featuring guest writers/poets, followed by an open-mic forum. These inspirational gatherings will both enlighten and entertain those in attendance. The guest author speaks from 7-8 PM with an open mic from 8 -9 PM. The original music of John Longbottom welcomes you, continues during intermission, and closes the evening. Sign-up for the open mic sheet is posted at the entry.
Jennifer McGaha is the author of three works of creative nonfiction, including The Joy Document, a collection of fifty essays celebrating midlife, Flat Broke with Two Goats, a 2018 OverDrive Big Library Read, and Bushwhacking: How to Get Lost in the Woods and Write Your Way Out, a Thomas Wolfe Memorial Literary Award finalist. Her work has also appeared in many magazines and literary journals including Image, The Huffington Post, The New Pioneer, Lumina, PANK, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Brevity, Bitter Southerner, Crab Creek Review, River Teeth, and others. An Appalachian native, Jennifer lives in a wooded North Carolina hollow with her husband, two cats, four unruly dogs, eight relatively tame dairy goats, and an ever-changing number of chickens

This event is always a fun opportunity for members of the business community to network, connect with colleagues, and enjoy a beautiful day out of the office.
This Captain’s Choice tournament begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 am (one flight only). Sponsors will engage golfers with fun interaction and branded prizes at select holes on the course.
Entry fee includes breakfast provided by Bojangles of WNC and a delicious, hearty hot buffet lunch served by Bear’s Smokehouse. Two beverage stations will be set up on the course, with beer provided by Highland Brewing Company and soft drinks from Pepsi.
Registration fee is $250 per individual or $1,000 for a team of four players.
