Back by popular demand our BBQ & Brews now featured on the Fontana Trestle Train, will roll out this Summer! Featuring slow-cooked BBQ prepared fresh and beer tastings showcasing our local breweries! Family friendly seating is be available on this experience!
Departing from Bryson City, these trains will travel to the Fontana Trestle and arrive just around sunset for a spectacular view! A delicious BBQ meal will be served during the trip. Returning back to the Bryson City Depot at 9pm.

Each of you will get your own basket of Southern-style barbeque goodness with hand-pulled pork slider, a couple pork ribs, and chicken drumstick accompanied by baked beans and house-made coleslaw.

This year they’re shaking things up with dozens of games, a ropes course, keg bowling, Hammer-Schlagen®, climbing wall, Strider pump course, and more. Enjoy full-sized pours of your favorite Sierra Nevada beers, special collaboration beers created just for Beer Camp, and awesome culinary creations. Come ready to party, get a little dirty, and experience Beer Camp in a whole new way.

SHUTTLES: PLEASE DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE. Really, we can’t stress this enough, if you overindulge, leave your car or bike overnight and come back for it the next day. Take the free shuttle or a taxi; you’ll make some new friends and keep everyone safe. We also created these great options for you:
1. ASHEVILLE FREE SHUTTLE – Shuttles are continuously looping, taking off at 11:30 am from the A-B Tech Community College – 340 Victoria Rd. Asheville, NC 28801. Use parking lot B-7 in front of the Dogwood Building. Free overnight parking is included. 2. HENDERSONVILLE FREE SHUTTLE – Shuttles are continuously looping taking off at 11:30 am from the Courthouse Annex Parking Lot adjacent to Fourth Avenue and Grove Street.
3. PARKING OR TAXI – Complimentary parking available at the WNC Agricultural Center located two miles from the brewery. Shuttles will run continuously 11:30 am – 5 pm. Free overnight parking is included. All taxi/Uber/personal car pick-up will be at the WNC Ag Center.

You loved Beatles music when you were a kid. Now YOUR kids have a chance to experience the magic of the Beatles LIVE in concert. On the afternoon of Saturday June 16 at The Orange Peel, Abbey Road LIVE! will be playing a special all-ages family matinee show.
Abbey Road LIVE! is well known in the Southeast for their energetic concerts at clubs, theaters and festivals. This time, the focus will be on the kids. Expect fun classics such as “Octopus’ Garden”, “Yellow Submarine”, and “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds”. Does your child have a a favorite Beatles tune? Abbey Road LIVE! loves to take requests, and has often been known to invite kids on stage to sing along.

NewSong Music and Blue Ridge Public Radio (BPR) are proud to present the ‘NewSong Sanctuary Sessions,’ a three part weekly concert series and fundraiser for BPR, featuring some of North America’s most talented emerging songwriters. These intimate concerts will be held in the beautiful and acoustically stunning Sanctuary of downtown Asheville’s Central United Methodist Church.
Rose Cousins just might be Nova Scotia’s answer to Iris DeMent, or even to Kate Wolf. Says Lifestyle Nova Scotia:”Cousins writes songs strong on story, melody, and honest observations … that demand an unaffected but beautiful voice.” Her album “We Have Made a Spark” took home a Canadian Juno Award along with many other awards, including a spot on NPR’s Top 10 Americana & Folk Albums list. That album was recorded in Boston, where Rose spends part of her time, and where she’s found strong support from the city’s vibrant songwriting community. Rooted in authenticity and conviction of voice, the songs of Rose Cousins make you feel as though she sings for you, about your life. “We develop patterns that keep us from moving forward,” Rose says. “It takes a deep breath and a bucket of courage to face the uncomfortable, painful things we work so hard to avoid. Since 2002, Abbey Road LIVE! has been rocking the music of The Beatles. Initially a tribute to the monumental “Abbey Road” album, the band has expanded its repertoire to include more than 150 Beatles tunes, from all eras of the Fab Four’s career.
This is not your typical Beatle look-alike tribute act; don’t expect mop-top haircuts and fake British accents. Rather, an Abbey Road LIVE! show is about bringing to life some of the more mature and complex Beatles material in a raw & spirited fashion, while remaining true to the original recordings. 5 years ago, Burial opened its doors in a low key neighborhood (not so low key anymore) brewing on a 1 barrel nano-system. We couldn’t be more humbled by the support we have received over the years.

Mama Maisha and King Daddy’s Chicken and Waffles are teaming up to raise funds to promote healthy, safe pregnancies on June 21. From 3PM until 10PM, 20% of all proceeds from food and beverage purchases will be donated to Mama Maisha.
Asheville physicians Dr. Reta Graham and Dr. Jeff Graham, in affiliation with local and regional non-governmental services, founded Mama Maisha, the first Safe Motherhood Intervention Project in the Mara region of Tanzania. Mama Maisha works at the village level, providing essential prenatal care and delivery services, as well as education and resources to empower women to make wise decision regarding family planning, healthy pregnancies, and safe delivery for every child.

Join BGA staffer Heather Rayburn as she hosts a special book club in celebration of Pollinator Month. Participants should read Dr. Erica McAlister’s “The Secret Life of Flies” before the event. Refreshments will be served as we discuss the book, review its highlights, and look at some slides about these fascinating insects.
Why this book? Everyone knows about the sexy bee pollinators, but the plant world also benefits from the pollination of other insects, bats, birds, rodents and even lizards. McAlister, a British entomologist, “gets under the wings of these crucial creatures as she ventures into the land of the fly. From hungry herbivores and precocious pollinators to robber flies, danceflies and the much maligned mosquito, she describes the different types of fly, their unique and often unusual characteristics, and the unpredictable nature of their daily life.”
Heather is the creator of www.MonarchLover.org, a website dedicated to promoting the planting of native milkweed to help the endangered Monarch butterfly. She’s worked at the Botanical Gardens for 10 years.

The American Pig founder Charles Lee and Highland Brewing sensory scientist Megan Rayfield will guide you through a selection of five pairings of The American Pig charcuterie and Highland beer. Full pairing menu to be announced soon!

About The American Pig: Born and raised in South Carolina, Charles Lee’s formative years taught him to appreciate the finer aspects of living. One of those key points is that all good things take time. His Uncle Jay would reinforce that lesson every year when the family gathered for the annual pig-picking. Uncle Jay would show up several days before the big event, smoker in tow, and go purchase a pig from a local farmer. That pig would end up on ice in the bathtub of Charles’s grandmother’s house in Brevard, NC. At some point in the late afternoon of an early November day, after the wood fire had turned to simmering coals, the pig would find its new home on the smoker.
After college Charles found himself in Denver working for a brewery. When not behind the bar pouring beers, he would stumble into the kitchen and concoct crazy burgers and hot sauces. Then one day the industry folk started talking about a new butcher shop opening in town. The shop was going to be using whole animals that were raised in Colorado. Not soon afterward, Charles walked into that butcher shop and signed up for a class. That class would be the spark that started the adventure that is The American Pig.
