Aug 16 @ 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm
West Asheville TBA

Join us for Donation Based Yoga in the Park*
Hosted by West Asheville Yoga

May we align our breath to sync with the beating of our hearts, healing ourselves and this planet from the inside out. Wandering through this time of darkness we connect with the elements. Through the earth, our breath, and Yoga we ground deep in our roots. The air is wild, free and full of possibility. Water nourishes our souls while reminding us to go with the flow. We ignite the fire of passion and light an awakening within, becoming one with the elements and connecting under one sun.

*This practice will take place in North Asheville. The exact location will be sent after registration.

World Premiere of THE SPIRITS STILL MOVE THEM Moonshining in the Mountains
Aug 17 @ 7:00 pm
The Orange Peel

Watch the Movie Trailer Here

The Center’s newest documentary film focuses on the iconic moonshiners.  Rather than the stereotypes of lazy, drunken mountaineers, moonshiners were some of the most entrepeneurial and creative farmers in a community who not only provided a public service but helped to put food on the table for themselves and their communities.  The stories are both heart-rending, funny and moving and open a window into the soul of the Southern Appalachian world that’s rapidly vanishing.

All screenings include live music by Apple Country String Band or Bandana Rhythm as well as a talk with the director and local moonshiners. The screening at North River Farms is drive-in theater event with a food truck.

This is a general admission event.  Tickets vary by venue in order to maintain social distancing.  As social distancing rules change, we will update this site which may make more (or even less) seats available.  Right now, each site has limited capacity and tickets are expected to sell out quickly.  As a special offer for our ticketbuyers, if you purchase the DVD along with your tickets, you get $5 off the DVD price and save the additional $5 shipping and handling.  (Do not choose this option until after you’ve bought your tickets first or you will be charged a $5 processing fee to return your money.)

See venue information below for more details. This is a ticket-less event.  Your name will be at the reservations table at the door at the time of the event.  Outside venues are subject to weather dates if necessary.  Your tickets are automatically good for these weather dates should the event not go on for the original date.  All sales are final and tickets are non-refundable once purchased.

UPDATE: As things open up more, masks are optional at all venues, social distancing and masks are still encouraged.  Thanks for your understanding!
