“this scrappy, sincere new musical brings a fresh, handmade feeling to Broadway” – NY Times
Is there one action you could take that would immediately shift your life from stalling out to taking off?
How hard could it be to just stand with your hand on a truck?
For 10 hard-luck Texans, a new lease on life is so close they can touch it. Under a scorching sun for days on end, armed with nothing but hope, humor and ambition, they’ll fight to keep at least one hand on a brand new “hardbody” Nissan truck in order to win it. In the hilarious, hard-fought contest, only one winner can drive away with the American dream. Based on a true story!
With a terrific score by Amanda Green and Trey Anastasio and a book by Pultizer Prize winning playwright Doug Wright, this musical will be one you’ll cherish for a long time!

In collaboration with Grail Moviehouse, Livingdog and Mike Johnson will celebrate the release of their new album “CRO$$” out this spring on Constellation Tatsu Records. They will perform selections from the album to serve as a live score for a debut experimental film made by Corey Parlamento. The film is a wandering meditation on landscape and objects. It plays much like the footage from a vast network of security cameras capturing candid moments of motion and stillness.
CRO$$ is the debut collaboration between Asheville, NC musicians Mike Johnson and Corey Parlamento (aka Livingdog). Each song was structured by using a different combination of acoustic and electronic instruments, field recordings, and household objects. They created fictional story lines based on photographs to dictate the direction each song would travel and then utilized elements of ambient and avant-garde music to create a sonic landscape for each image and story. CRO$$ is a collection of soundscapes that range from meditative and playful to chaotic and explosive. Out on June 11th via Constellation Tatsu Records.
Midnight // Saturday, June 15th // Grail Moviehouse // $8
