To mark its 20th anniversary, family-owned Catawba Brewing Co. will celebrate with Asheville for an entire week. The emerald-anniversary excitement will kick off on July 15 with a “Find Green, Get Green” gift card promotion. On each day (July 15-19) leading up to the anniversary bash, both Asheville tasting rooms (Biltmore Village and South Slope) will randomly hide one pint glass with an emerald-green band around it in the day’s serving glassware. The lucky person to be served the emerald glass “gets green”—a $20 gift Catawba Brewing gift card.
Catawba will cap off the week on July 20 with an all-day party at its South Slope location, replete with four anniversary beer releases; onsite T-shirt printing; multiple bands; Blind Pig bites and Three Eggs Cakery of Asheville sweet treats. The guest who is served the emerald glass during the South Slope anniversary party will receive a $200 gift card.
There will also be an anniversary party at the Biltmore Village tasting room from 2-10 p.m.

Hobby horsing is the “safe, fun and affordable way to ride horses”. Riders participating in competitive hobby horsing – a toy consisting of a stick with a model horse head – perform and mimic the movements and technicality of horseback riding in the disciplines of show jumping and dressage, then translate that to their stick horse, where judges will mark and score their rounds. For participants competing in show jumping, courses are set with tricky combinations and patterns, similar to the show jumping competitions seen at TIEC throughout the year. Individuals must register by noon on event day.

Over the years RiverFest has brought thousands of people down to the banks of the French Broad to enjoy live music, local beer, food, and sunsets over one of the oldest rivers in the world. We’re excited for another year of jammin’ out by the river! Joining the festivities this year are Alarm Clock Conspiracy, Ashley Heath and Her Heathens, Lyric’s Fan Page, and Coconut Cake.
Leading up to the music we will be hosting the Anything that Floats Parade. All sorts of creative floats will start to be visible from New Belgium around noon.
RiverFest serves as a fundraiser for RiverLink, and a chance for us to celebrate our beautiful river and incredible community. The proceeds from the event goes to support our on the ground work throughout the watershed. A big thanks goes out to Prestige Subaru, 98.1 The River, FASTSIGNS of Asheville and New Belgium Brewing for sponsoring this event and making it possible.

I Am Home is gearing up for another art show at Ginger’s Revenge!
We are a community of artists who are homeless, at risk, recently homed, or feel drawn to the cause. We meet twice weekly at Haywood Street Congregation, where we produce all of our art for the show.
••Details••
-over 10 artists’ art on display (those who have been affiliated with our project since it originated, and artists who have freshly joined)
-When you decide to buy art, the artist them-self receives 100% of your contribution, helping them feel loved, appreciated, and motivated to keep going.
-when you decide to show up, donate monetarily or offer art supplies to our project itself, we can sustain our initiative. Every dollar goes a long way, every art supply you don’t use anymore does as well.
-you’ll have the chance to meet and connect with many artists in person
– enter into a raffle for a chance to win a piece created by our volunteer artists
– enjoy hors’ devours while scoping out the scene
Our art shows are a time to showcase all of our artists’ hard work, to celebrate the leaps and bounds we’ve been able to accomplish. We’ve been a nonprofit for 2 years and we’re still so young- we need your help to get the word out there!
Bring your family, your kids, bring your friends, your partners, bring your blind date, the person you’ve been wanting to hang out with but haven’t yet, or scoop up a friendly stranger on the way.

This ain’t no Jet-Set band! David Zoll and Laura Blackley perform old-school country duets (and play guitars) a la George and Tammy, Gram and Emmylou, and Loretta and Conway. Tom Pittman (host of WNCW’s Country Gold) plays pedal steel and the band is rounded out by a solid rhythm section comprised of Stephen Frankel on bass and Richard Foulk on drums. Vocal harmonies swimming in pedal steel that you can dance to. George and Tammy would be proud.
