The highly anticipated Community Concert is returning to Pack Square Park in Downtown Asheville on Thursday, May 29, 2025, and this year’s lineup promises to deliver another unforgettable evening of live music, local food, and community spirit. The event will feature Steep Canyon Rangers, one of the most renowned names in bluegrass and Americana music, along with the incredible opening act, Sam Burchfield and the Scoundrels. The Community Concert is presented by Oskar Blues Brewery, Dale’s, and Fred Anderson Subaru.
This celebration of community is FREE to attend, with General Admission available to all. For those seeking an enhanced experience, Preferred Access Tickets powered by Skyla Credit Union are on sale now, providing attendees with a premium concert experience in the heart of Asheville’s iconic Downtown.
In addition to the music, the Community Concert will also feature a variety of local food vendors, a marketplace with unique handmade goods, and a gear swap presented by Second Gear, giving attendees the chance to exchange gently used outdoor gear. The event is designed to bring together people of all ages for an evening of celebration, while supporting local businesses and artists.

DEAD PREZ is the pair of politically militant rappers, Stic.Man and M-1. They have become known for their hard-hitting style and socialist lyrics, focusing on anti-racism, anti-capitalism, critical pedagogy, as well as activism against social injustice and corporate control over the media (especially hip-hop record labels.)
Ballet Conservatory of Asheville presents ‘The Sleeping Beauty’, A beautiful full length production of this classic ballet. Choreography after Marius Petipa with music by Peter Ilyitch Tchaikovsky.
Princess Aurora is cursed by the evil fairy Carabosse at her christening, however, the Lilac Fairy intervenes, ensuring Aurora will only sleep until a prince’s kiss awakens her, leading to a grand celebration when the prince finds and kisses her after a hundred years of slumber.
Featuring Ballet Tucson dancers, Hunter Solomon as Prince Desire, and Jessica Lynn as Aurora, alongside the celebrated Ballet Conservatory of Asheville’s pre professional company.

Pan Harmonia, Asheville’s award winning chamber music company presents Dances in Nature for flute and harp with Kate Steinbeck and Jessica Schaeffer Sunday, June 1st at 3 pm at First Presbyterian Church Asheville and Friday, June 6th at 7 pm at Black Mountain Presbyterian Church. Enjoy mystical dances and haunting melodies by Alan Hovhaness, Joseph Jongen and Carl Nielsen along with tunes inspired by ocean creatures, waltzes, boleros and salsa.
Celebrating its 25th season, Pan Harmonia offers pay-as-you-can, donation-based performances; no one is turned away for lack of funds. “Music is for everyone!,” says Steinbeck. Those that can, help by donating funds for the musicians and Pan Harmonia operations.

Carrie Morrison Album Release Show
Carrie Morrison, a talented singer-songwriter based in Brevard, North Carolina, is celebrated for her heartfelt lyrics and melodic compositions that blend folk, pop, Americana, and Celtic influences. Known for her warm, expressive voice and intricate piano arrangements, Carrie has become a beloved figure in the Western North Carolina music scene.
Join us for an evening of celebration at the Chamber’s crowning event of the year! Mix and mingle with business and community leaders followed by a delicious Grove Park dinner. We’ll reflect on the past year, look to the future and honor outstanding business leaders.

This program features timeless and modern melodies from 1750 to the present, including works by Debussy, Ibert, Bartók, Ravel, and Fauré, along with a special tribute to Edith Piaf. The musicale features Demeler Duo consisting of Rachel Hansbury, vocalist, and Andy Jurik, classical guitarist, and Kelariz Keshavarz on flute and Brian Seaton on Oboe.
The Demeler Duo will perform selections from France and Latin America, offering a rich tapestry of classic chansons and modern art songs. Pair this vibrant musical experience with a curated selection of brandy cocktails and enjoy an evening of exceptional local talent! Demeler is a café and salon music duo made up of husband and wife, Andy Jurik (guitar) and Rachel Hansbury (voice). Rachel Hansbury is a vocal artist and educator based in Asheville, NC. She has performed as a soloist with chamber music groups including the Asheville Choral Society, Gateway Chamber Orchestra, and Music City. Guitarist, arranger, and educator Andy Jurik actively explores the intersection of classical and popular music. Andy directs the Asheville Classical Guitar Society and publishes arrangements for solo guitar with Fingerstyle Guitar Journal and Guitar Chamber Music Press.

The Henderson County Curb Market, located at 221 N. Church Street in downtown Hendersonville, extends an invitation for its June Jamboree on Saturday, June 7th, from 8:00am – 2:00pm. The Market will offer live Bluegrass music by Liberty Road, a hot dog plate lunch available for purchase, a craft for Father’s Day at the children’s activity table, and a local authors’ signing. Visitors will enjoy chatting with Market vendors and shopping for produce and the many unique items created by local crafters. Fresh baked goods (including gluten free selections), free range eggs, preserves and honey will also be offered. With each purchase, a raffle ticket will be given for a chance to win a basket filled with Curb Market items donated by vendors. This is sure to be an enjoyable, relaxing day for all.

The 4SCO is pleased to present a Spring Masterworks Concert: Visions of Hope and Peace. This uplifting program features inspiring works from iconic film scores and by pioneering contemporary composers. The concert features hopeful and visionary selections with John Barry’s award winning “Dances with Wolves Suite.” John Williams, a master of film music with a familiar and captivating sound is featured with “The People’s House” from Lincoln, “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Jurassic Park.” Valerie Coleman’s “Umoja,” which means unity, provides clashes of musical dissonance then cohesion as a unified anthem. The program concludes with Joe Hisaishi’s exhilarating “World of Dreams.”

Massachusetts-based artist Heather Maloney found music in the midst of three years at a meditation center, honing a sound moored in days of silent reflection and reverence for storytellers like Joni, Rilke, Ken Burns, and the anonymous authors of Zen parables.
With over 1,000 shows in the US & Canada, and 8 studio albums under her belt, she released her first live album, “No Shortcuts: Live at the Academy” in 2022.
Heather’s songs have played on NPR stations across the country and her live appearances have aired on syndicated programming like eTown and AudioTree. Her song “Nightstand Drawer” was used in the season finale of the CBS TV series “Elementary”, and her songs have also been featured on a number of editorial Spotify playlists & Starbucks’ in-store nationwide playlists.
Heather has toured throughout the US & Canada as a headliner and also in support of acts including Lake Street Dive, Shakey Graves, Gary Clark Jr., Rodrigo y Gabriela, Colin Hay (Men at Work), Mary Chapin Carpenter, Shawn Colvin, Dar Williams and many more.
