Madagascar Workshop

June 12-16 & July 17-21

Get read to MOVE IT, MOVE IT!

Join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hip hip Hippo and, of course, those hilarious, plotting penguins in this crack-a-lackin’ adventure from New York City to Madagascar.

Matilda Workshop

June 19-23 & July 24-28

It’s time to act like REVOLTIN’ CHILDREN!

Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers. Matilda’s school life isn’t completely smooth sailing, however – the school’s mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don’t abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils’ saving grace!

Shrek Workshop

June 26-30 & July 31-August 4

Come and let your FREAK FLAG FLY!

It’s a “big bright beautiful world” as everyone’s favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he’s handed a task — if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, but a fairytale wouldn’t be complete without a few twists and turns along the way.

The Little Mermaid Workshop

July 10-14 & August 7-11

Discover what it means to be PART OF YOUR WORLD!

In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid, Ariel, longs to leave her ocean home — and her fins — behind and live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father, King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she’s the girl whose enchanting voice he’s been seeking.

WEEK-LONG WORKSHOP, “THE TEAPOT” AT THE VILLAGE POTTERS CLAY CENTER
Apr 17 @ 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
The Village Potters Clay Center

The summer workshop series at The Village Potters Clay Center continues with a hands-on, week-long workshop with Sarah Wells Rolland focusing on “The Teapot”.

The workshop will take place April 17-21, 2023 in the Hands-On Workshop space at The Village Potters Clay Center in Asheville’s historic River Arts District.  Daily workshop hours will run from 9am-3pm, and students will have access to work in studio until 6pm each day.

This workshop will explore all elements of the teapot, including multiple forms, pouring spouts, lids, and approaches to handles. The teapot is every functional potters’ glorious pursuit, and Sarah Wells Rolland loves to explore the unique challenges that come with the making of teapots. The lively, week-long workshop includes demonstrations, slide presentations, “what if” critiques, interactive discussion, sharing with each other, and concentrated time at the wheel. An intermediate skill set is highly recommended. Seasoned beginners who can center, open, and control clay when making walls are also ready for this class and all involved will find all skills taken to another level! Please contact The Village Potters Clay Center if you have any questions about this workshop.

The Village Potters are Sarah Wells Rolland, Judi Harwood, Lori Theriault, Julia Mann, Katie Meili Messersmith,  Ruth Fischer Rutkowsky, and Caroline Renee Woolard, along with Director of Operations, Lindsey Mudge. They comprise an intentional Collective of potters who share a commitment to nurture creative exploration through education, experience, and community. The Village Potters includes a fine craft gallery, a Teaching Center offering ongoing classes in wheel, hand building, and sculpture for adults, an Advanced Ceramic Studies Program, a Hands-On Workshop Studio, and online demonstrations and workshops. The Village Potters Clay Center is an educational member of The Craft Guild of the Southern Highlands, and is an official distributor for Laguna Clays.

Automation: Grow Your Business While Freeing Up Time (Part 1 and 2)
Apr 18 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
online

Online: Zoom Webinar
No cost due to sponsor support

Digital Marketing is critical in today’s world, but all the moving parts can be overwhelming. Small businesses struggle to stay caught up with trends, manage their followers and email lists, engage with relevant content, and track all the data to inform future marketing decisions. Automation is the key to doing MORE with LESS effort. – Do your subscribers automatically receive a steady stream of warm touch emails that build rapport and teach them what your brand is all about? – Does everyone on your list get all the same emails, regardless of status? – Do you know who is engaging you on social media the most, so you can classify them as a prospect? – Does your marketing system keep track of your website visitors, social media followers, and who is engaging so that you know who are potential leads? – Is data from your marketing platforms synchronizing itself automatically, or are you constantly managing spreadsheets, lists, downloading and uploading info, wearing yourself out? In this two part series, we will review in detail how automation can make a massive difference in your business strategy, growth, and peace of mind! In Part 2 we will dive even deeper, examining actual software and platforms that provide these solutions to make your digital marketing and business management much easier. Both sessions to include live interactive Q&A, so bring your questions and requests!

Speaker(s): Aaron Wesley Means

Co-Sponsor(s): Henderson County Chamber of Commerce and Brevard/Transylvania Chamber of Commerce

Webinar info will be emailed after registration.
