2020 Minor League Baseball Season Cancelled Over Ongoing COVID-19 Concerns
Drive’s 15th Anniversary Season in Downtown Greenville delayed until 2021
The Greenville Drive, in conjunction with Major League Baseball, Minor League Baseball, and the South Atlantic League today announced that the 2020 season has been cancelled due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic that has swept across the world.

The ongoing concern regarding the safety of our community, and Minor League Baseball communities across America – including fans, front office staff, gameday staff, players and coaches – led to this decision.

We are in URGENT need of two assistant coaches at Hominy Valley Elementary on one or both program days (greater need on Wednesdays). The team practices on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:15 pm to 3:45 pm.
With your support, 15 girls will grow their confidence, learn to stand up for themselves and others, and realize their voices matter. You don’t even need to like running!

Kick off spring in the mountains at the 23rd annual French Broad River Festival. It’s part outdoor adventure, part music festival with whitewater rafting, biking, hiking, kid’s village, camping, great music, and much more. Painter John, a popular FBRF musician, compares the atmosphere to “a big potluck at your best friend’s house”. If you’ve been you know . . . what better way to enjoy spring in these mountains?

ABOUT THE SMOKY MOUNTAIN RELAY
Registration is capped at:
60 ~ 200-mile teams (36 transitions)
&
40 ~ 135-mile teams (24 transitions)
A scenic, wild, team adventure in the mountains of Western North Carolina, the Smoky Mountain Relay is an adventure that is not to be missed.
This course will challenge you and your friends with tough legs and reward you with stories to last a lifetime.
Choose from the original 200-mile course or the 135-mile course.
The 200-mile course begins at the Pink Beds Trail Loop picnic area just outside of Brevard, NC in the Pisgah National Forest.
Teams of 12 or “ultra” teams of 6 make their way through 36 legs and finish at the Nantahala Outdoor Center in Bryson City, NC.
The 135-mile course begins at the Jackson Country Recreation Complex in Cullowhee, NC. Teams of 8 or “ultra” teams of 4 make their way through 24 legs and also finish at the Nantahala Outdoor Center in Bryson City, NC in the heart of the Nantahala National Forest.
Each relay team member runs between 3 and 6 legs (depending on the course chosen and the number of team members running) of varying lengths and difficulty and will cover an average total distance of 18-20 miles (for the 200 mile race).

Welcome to the return of the Gateway to the Smokies Half Marathon in beautiful Waynesville, North Carolina. We are excited to bring this race back with the original course and start/finish lines. This race will be run in conjunction with the inaugural Mighty 4 Miler to Benefit the Riley Howell Foundation Fund.

The Merrell Adventure Dash is all about getting outside and challenging yourself to work hard for your good time. Suitable for families as well as adults, participants will negotiate a series of natural and man-made obstacles along the 5K course, including balance components, climbs and nets, a river-run, and raft crossing. This holiday weekend, enjoy a fun, family-friendly adventure run in the beautiful Nantahala Gorge. Merrell Adventure Dash participants can choose between the 5K dash or a 1K fun run. Kids aged 12 and under race free with a participating adult.
Registraion opens March 1, 2020. Check back for more details.
Onsite Registration is available from 1pm – 3:30pm day of. The race starts promptly at 4PM on 5/23/2020.
Remember to wear anything you don’t mind getting dirty!
Hendersonville Racquet Club is offering a six week series of classes for adult beginner tennis players. Try Tennis is a tennis instruction program for beginners. The Wednesday night classes are 7 pm. The cost is $40 for the six weeks and includes six hours of instruction, a tennis racquet and a Try Tennis t-shirt. April 8-May 20.
“Try Tennis is a great program we do in partnership with the NC USTA. Their help allows new players to get from couch to court in six weeks at half the price it would normally cost…plus they get a t-shirt and racquet! We will teach you the right way to play with certified tennis pros. This is a great program to get into tennis for adults.” stated HRC Owner Chris Bull.

Hendersonville Racquet Club is a six acre complex that includes 7 outdoor tennis courts, 3 indoor tennis courts, four racquetball courts, three pickleball courts, an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, group fitness room and outdoor leisure area by Shaw’s Creek and pond.
The nationally recognized, 8th Annual Asheville Marathon and Half marathon, will return to Asheville’s Biltmore Estate on March 21 & 22, 2020. The Asheville Marathon and Half events are ’boutique style’ events with limited entries available of 1,525 runners per day.
In 2018, the Asheville Marathon was named by Outside Online as one of the Top 9 vacation-worthy marathons and The Top Ten Best Spring/Summer Marathons to Run by MapMyRun. We were also listed as one of the 70 American Road Races every runner should finish by Runner’s World Magazine.
In 2017, the Asheville Marathon was named Top 25 Must-Do American Marathons by Competitor Magazine. In addition, the Asheville Half Marathon at Biltmore was honored to also be selected in the “Best Of” category in the 100 Half Marathons Club.

Get your start with Baseball Factory just like Greenville Drive alums Triston Casas, CJ Chatham, Jarren Duran, and Thad Ward! The National Tryout Tour comes to Fluor Field on Sunday, March 22nd. The Baseball Factory National Tour is the #1 skills evaluation in the USA.
There will be two sessions at Fluor Field, one for Middle School athletes at 8 AM, and one for High School atheltes at 12 PM. Middle School athletes can click HERE to register, while High School athletes can click HERE to register.
During both sessions, parents will have access to a suite at Fluor Field that will include complimentary refreshments, snacks, and a short presentation by Baseball Factory.

Swamp Rabbits Hockey offers fantastic fun for the whole family! The Greenville Swamp Rabbits play in the South Division of the Eastern Conference of the ECHL, the premiere AA hockey league. NRC Slalom US Open

Elite slalom paddlers strive for precision and speed on the legendary Nantahala Falls course at this classic southeastern race. Meanwhile, wildwater racers compete in sprint and classic components on the Nantahala River.
Spectators are invited to enjoy the show from the Forest Service walkway along the Nantahala Falls, which affords excellent views of both races. Bring a cup of fresh coffee or hot cocoa from River’s End Restaurant, located just downstream of the race course, and warm your hands as you enjoy US whitewater racing at its best!
Racers and their families will get 10% off at River’s End Restaurant for the weekend of the race! Just wear your US Open t-shirt in to the restaurant!*
