Girl Talk (aka Pittsburgh’s Gregg Gillis) has been constructing meticulous sample-based music since 2000. His early work was known for its raw experimental nature, but by the release of his 2006 album, Night Ripper, that style evolved into genre-smashing, breakneck-paced party jams. Night Ripper consisted of over 300 songs, from wildly disparate Top 40 genres and eras, mashed up and layered together into one cohesive collage. It received critical acclaim, and the attention resulted in a rapidly growing fan base. Gillis ended up quitting his biomedical engineering day job one year later.

This is an Evening with Bela Fleck & the Flecktones – Our recently postponed show with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones has now been rescheduled for Thursday, May 27, 2021. All tickets purchased for the original event will be honored for the rescheduled date. if you are unable to attend the future event date, please contact your point of purchase or click here.
Groundbreaking banjoist/composer/bandleader Béla Fleck has reconvened the original ‘Béla Fleck & The Flecktones’, the extraordinary initial line-up of his incredible combo. Rocket Science marks the first recording by the first fab four Flecktones in almost two decades, with pianist/harmonica player Howard Levy back in the fold alongside Fleck, bassist Victor Wooten, and percussionist/ Drumitarist Roy “Futureman” Wooten. Far from being a wistful trip back in time, the album sees the Grammy Award-winning quartet creating some of the most forward thinking music of their long, storied career. While all manners of genres come into play—from classical and jazz to bluegrass and African music to electric blues and Eastern European folk dances—the result is an impossible to pigeonhole sound all their own, a meeting of musical minds that remains, as ever, utterly indescribable. Simply put, it is The Flecktones, the music made only when these four individuals come together.
“What I needed,” replied banjo innovator when asked about the 1989 formation of Béla Fleck & The Flecktones, “were people that were kind of freaks. Each person had to be an equal or more, and that’s what made it work when I ran into these guys and we started playing together.”
The original lineup of the groundbreaking Béla Fleck & The Flecktones—Fleck with Howard Levy on piano and harmonica, percussionist / drumitarist Future Man and bassist Victor Wooten—have expanded their 30th Anniversary run, including December 4 at Town Hall in NYC.

As a gay woman who grew up on the banks of the Mississippi River in one of the most isolated parts of Kentucky, S.G. Goodman has the unique perspective of the insider who is also the outsider. Her songwriting seeks to carve a space for yourself in a place that you were born to, despite it not reflecting your feelings. After coming out, S.G. struggled with suicidal thoughts but didn’t want to seek refuge somewhere else. She wanted to stay and make music that saves her. Her debut album Old Time Feeling does just that by exploring the way most people see the South without fully understanding its complexities.
Her vocals are just as powerful as her lyrics. My Morning Jacket front man and S.G. Goodman’s co-producer Jim James recalls feeling spellbound when he first heard her. S.G.’s sings with conviction, something she learned attending Southern Baptist Church three times a week as a child. It’s the truth in her music and the way she delivers it that not only brings the listener in, but has them feeling it too.
