We are so thankful for their generous support of our mission to protect the French Broad River! Both of our organizations share a passion for the environment and helping our community experience it’s beauty. In conjunction with its annual golf tournament, the Bulldog Athletics Fund is hosting a silent auction with all of the proceeds going to support the 270-plus UNC Asheville student-athletes.
The silent auction features a three-night stay at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort and a foursome golf package at the exclusive member’s only Briar’s Creek Golf Club. Bidding will open on August 2, 2021, and will conclude at noon on August 25. Anyone is eligible to bid on this auction item and participation in the annual Bulldog Athletics Fund Golf Classic is not required.
Bidding for this exclusive package, which has an estimated value of $2,500, will begin at $1,000 and will have bid increments of $100. To submit your bid, or for more information, please email or call Betsy Blose at [email protected], 828-252-6907. Additionally, those who bid will be given auction updates every three days via email, and once a day during the last week of the auction.

You decide your level of commitment, so every participant can create their own path to helping provide food to our community. Participants also decide how, when, and where they complete their goal, any time now through the campaign end on October 31.
Outpace Hunger participants:
(1) Register to be a part of MANNA’s Outpace Hunger community. The $20 registration fee includes a t-shirt for you and provides 80 MEALS for neighbors facing food insecurity in WNC.
(2) Choose a favorite activity (run, walk, roll, stroll, hike, bike, paddle, climb, float, skate, golf, and everything in between!) to complete individually, or as a family/group/team.
(3) Set a goal to reach. This can be an activity-related goal, a fundraising goal, or both.
(4) Invite friends and family to support your fundraising efforts through your own, personalized Outpace Hunger webpage.

Join us on Sunday, August 22nd as Wells Fargo Advisors presents Stories from the MOB (Mother of the Bride) a comedy, with a little drama and adventure mixed in! Just as each dress has a story to tell, so does every Mother of the Bride! This delightful performance consists of several short monologues of women who will make you laugh, cry, nod in agreement and steal your heart as they share the story of their dress and their expectations for the big day! Written and directed by Doreen Blue and performed by the Pass the Hat Players, Stories from the MOB has become an audience favorite and a joy for the cast of performers!

UNC Asheville will host the 2021 Bulldog Athletics Fund Scholarship Golf Classic from August 23-24 at The Country Club of Asheville.
The annual event sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina, Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians raises scholarship money for the 270-plus UNC Asheville student-athletes through the Bulldog Athletics Fund.
The cost for an individual player is $500 with team player fees for four $2,000. Tee sponsorships are also available for $300.
Golfers can choose to play on Monday, Aug. 23, or Tuesday, Aug. 24. Space is limited to the first 200 paid entries.
At approximately 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 23 and Tuesday, Aug. 24, there will also be an “Awards and After Party” after the conclusion of golf each day.
Registration gets underway at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 23 and Tuesday, Aug. 24, with a shotgun start scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Country Club of Asheville on both days.
Registration includes greens and cart fees, box lunches provided by Arby’s, player gift, Pepsi and Highland Brewing products and prizes for the winners of each flight. There are also closest to the hole prizes, straightest drive prizes and much more.
The 2020 Scholarship Golf Classic raised $108,000 with 176 golfers participating in the two-day event.
“We are extremely thankful to all of our sponsors and volunteers who help support our Bulldog student-athletes,” UNC Asheville Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone stated. “Our golf committee has done a great job of growing and executing this event each year, and we cannot wait to see everyone out at The Country Club of Asheville in August.”

Visitor Parking
Visitors may park in faculty/staff and non-resident lots from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, and on weekends, holidays, and campus breaks. Visitors are not permitted to park in resident student lots at any time.
