The mountains of western North Carolina are full of pick your own u-pick orchards. We offer more. In addition to a long list of apple varieties, visit Sky Top Orchard and you’ll enjoy panoramic mountain views, orchard ponds with ducks and geese, a barnyard area with sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys, peacocks and more, a bamboo forest to explore, lots of picnic areas and, of course, a mountaintop of fragrant apple and fruit trees. View our downloadable map to see all that we have to offer and visit our picking schedule to find out what’s available now.

When you purchase a bushel of apples, a wagon load of pumpkins or a cooler full of apple cider you’ll take home more than the makings for delicious fall recipes, you’ll take home a mountain of memories too. And don’t forget our famous apple cider doughnuts. They’re an autumn tradition. We bet you can’t eat just one.

Grace Episcopal Church Pumpkin Patch – Consider Haiti
Oct 27 all-day
Grace Episcopal Church

Beginning Sunday, September 27, and continuing throughout the month of October, the front lawn of Grace Church will once again be filled with pumpkins! And as in years past, proceeds from pumpkin sales will benefit our friends with Consider Haiti.

Annually, the Pumpkin Patch is Consider Haiti’s biggest fundraiser. A year ago, we netted $10,000 that supported programs in community health, sustainable nutrition, clean water and medical care. Consider Haiti’s single most urgent goal is promoting the health and welfare of Haitian children. This year, they will impact the lives of more than 2,000 children and their families. Through the Pumpkin Patch, Grace Church has an opportunity to raise both funds and awareness for the work Consider Haiti is doing, even in the midst of a pandemic. We hope we have made participating as safe and risk-free as possible for you. And we thank you in advance for your on-going support.

For the safety of our volunteer sellers, we have developed a method of no-touch electronic payment that will hopefully eliminate a lot of cash transactions that involved handling money. Wheelbarrows will be on hand for shoppers to load their own pumpkin selections. The idea is to handle money and pumpkins as little as possible. Wipes, masks and disinfectant will be available for use as needed within the Patch

Asheville Music Hall presents The Marcus King Trio Drive in Show
Oct 27 @ 6:45 pm – 10:00 pm
Smoky Mountain Event Center

A 24-year-old guitar phenom and innovative songwriter, Marcus King can simultaneously switch from swaggering rock to supersonic soul, having written songs and performing onstage for half his lifetime. The Marcus King Trio also includes drummer Jack Ryan and bass player Stephen Campbell to create blistering rock unit that has honed their synergy through endless touring.

Marcus started learning guitar at age three or four. He has played professionally since he was 11 and always knew he wanted to make music his life. A fourth-generation musician, Marcus has followed in his family’s footsteps. His grandfather was a country guitarist, and his father continues to perform live.

From the start, Marcus earned rave reviews for his kinetic musicianship with The Washington Post describing him as a “guitar phenom.” His debut solo album, El Dorado topped the Americana radio charts and has received critical acclaim from the likes of NPR, Rolling Stone, American Songwriter, and Rolling Stone, who described him as an “electrifying rock performer.” Marcus completed a string of dates last year with Chris Stapleton, who called him “one of his favorite artists” when he joined him onstage.

Marcus King continues to re-write his fast moving and surprising story. You can hear change in the wisdom of his lyrics and deeply soulful vocals, bringing sheer musical command to every performance.

Magnetic in the Smoky Park – Outdoor Show

Live Outdoor Show

Join us every Tuesday night in October (and maybe beyond) as The Magnetic Theatre teams up with the wizards at Smoky Park Supper Club to host a live, outdoor variety show.

Starting October 6th, we’ll be filling Smoky Park’s gorgeous, riverside outdoor space with comedy, theatre, music and so much more. Smoky Park’s kitchen will be closed but their full bar will be open for business. This will be a BYOC event (Bring-Your-Own-Chair) and shows will strictly follow all safety guidelines; with mask and social distancing protocols enforced. There will also be temperature checks at the gate and plenty of hand sanitation stations on the property. Restrooms will be available.

If you buy a ticket, you must bring your own chair and purchase one ticket per person attending. You will be required to wear a mask throughout the event.
