TENETS OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Jul 29 @ 9:00 am – 3:30 pm
online via Zoom

People shaking hands

During this program, participants will learn how to manage a project by using the 5 phases of project management and several other critical topics related to being a successful project manager in any industry. Program participants will also learn how to lead small and large projects from initiation through close-out.
Expand Your Circle: Roundtable version for Women Entrepreneurs
Jul 29 @ 5:30 pm
Focal Point

In July, we are getting down to business! July’s “Expand Your Circle” event will be roundtable sessions. Each table will have 4 women, plus 1 seasoned entrepreneur leading the table. Each person will present a problem/issue/question(s) they have and the whole table will brainstorm on it for 15 minutes. It is guaranteed that others will bring up issues that you also have. For instance, your number one concern right now might be “How should I be pricing my products/services?”
Someone else may bring up “Is it better to use contractors or hire someone?” or “My marketing isn’t working. Help!” These are probably things that you also deal with, so you’ll get tons of information on all the topics.
So join us for community, food, fun, encouragement and ideas!
This project receives support from NC IDEA.

Breaking News from the SBA regarding PPP Loan Forgiveness
Aug 3 @ 8:00 am – 8:00 pm
Online
The SBA is launching a streamlined application portal to allow borrowers with Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans under $150,000 through participating lenders to apply for forgiveness directly through the SBA.
“With the new simplified application portal, thousands of Southeastern businesses, and even sole proprietorships that borrowed PPP funds will have these funds forgiven said Janita R. Stewart, Acting Regional Administrator for the Southeastern Region. Most entrepreneurs waiting for forgiveness have loans under $150,000. It was time we made the process more efficient so businesses can get back to sustaining our communities.”
This new change will help rush relief to the Southeast’s smallest of small businesses, which has been the Administrator’s priority since day one. The new forgiveness platform will begin accepting applications from borrowers on August 4, 2021. Lenders are required to opt-in to this program through directforgiveness.sba.gov. In addition to the technology platform, the SBA is standing up a PPP customer service team to answer questions and directly assist borrowers with their forgiveness applications. Borrowers that need assistance or have questions should call (877) 552-2692, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. EDT.

Asheville Women in Tech
Aug 10 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Online w/ Asheville Women in Tech

VIRTUAL MEETING: Asheville Women in Tech

Hey Asheville women! Are you a coder, a developer, a designer, an architect of information? This is a group for Asheville women in tech who want a collaborative and supportive space to bring projects to workshops, participate in tutorials facilitated by other members, spark new ideas, write practice code, and develop cool stuff. Maybe (like me) you’re just getting started, and you wish you could bounce ideas off someone, or just ask them how to center that block of text on the page? You should come! We’ll work it out together. Or maybe you’re a veteran web developer who thinks rookies are brave (possibly foolish) souls with no idea what they’re getting into? Please come tell us all the things you wish someone had told you! Let’s skill-share, meet other women in the biz, learn new things, and give each other a leg up!

We’re on Slack!
