Southern Broadway and Black Wall Street AVL present Mr. Mouse & The Rat Pack, a musical production that will bring you laughs, joy, and great music, in memory of The Rat Pack.
Mr. Mouse & The Rat Pack is a story that takes place in the ’90s. As a young driven writer, Grace goes looking for the last great songwriter, Mr. Mouse, who was believed to be dead. Mr. Mouse has written songs for Frank, Sammy, Dean, and many more in the old days. In search of this writer, Grace ended up finding out a whole lot more than expected. This show will take you back in time and allow you to relive the good ole days in memory of the Rat Pack.
This Broadway show includes an all-star cast with Jeff Grainger as Frank, Dezhon as Sammy, Sean Patrick Kennedy as Dean, Javon Johnson from Tyler Perry’s “The Oval,” Curtis Von from “Why Did I Get Married?,” South Carolina’s Official First Lady of Song Loretta Holloway, International Gospel singer ShAunta Moore, Rosemary Milsap – powerful actress from Athens, GA, R&B/Pop sensation Sydeajah, and last but definitely not least, he’s back…JoJo Williams, an awesome comedian/playwright!

The Great Wagon Road Game is an interactive role-playing version of the “Oregon Trail” game of Mom and Dad’s youth. The Cradle of Forestry has brought the game to life along our Biltmore Campus Trail (1 mile). This interactive walking game takes you around the trail to learn more about the trials and tribulations the first European settlers faced as they traveled the Great Wagon Road and settled our beautiful mountains. This is a great game for families to work together and have fun! Families will travel in “wagon groups”, “purchase” supplies (no real money involved in the game) for the journey and stop to roll the dice of destiny that will choose their cards of fate.
This is open to all ages and will have a family-friendly atmosphere. Children under 4 are free to come along as long as they don’t distract the other players from having fun. Please dress appropriately for the outdoors, as we will be walking our 1-mile paved, Biltmore Campus Trail.
An array of things can contribute to tightness in the hips & hamstrings; running, stress, sitting, even simple daily activities such as walking! We often carry patterns within our movements, not all of which are good or healthy for our bodies. Restrictions within these regions can cause significant discomfort, even pain. By better understanding our anatomy, our postural & movement habits, as well as the mechanics of Yoga poses, we can begin to unravel held tension in the hips & hamstrings, creating space for energy to flow more freely throughout the body
In this playful workshop we’ll flow deeply in a yang style to create heat and length through the back line of the body as well as the full circumference of the hip. We’ll also rest into yin style postures to target the joints and connective tissues. Throughout the workshop we will utilize props as well as the wall to support all levels of practice. You’ll learn how to strengthen and stabilize in order to find more flexibility and freedom in this powerful region of the body. As we work systematically and artfully towards a number of peak postures you’ll experience how this balance of yin and yang creates more spaciousness and ease.

Please join us for the 5th annual Love♡Shine♡Play Festival, July 28-31, 2022 (tentative date) taking place against the breathtaking backdrop of the world’s oldest mountains in gorgeous Asheville, NC. The festival classes take place in beautiful venues throughout downtown Asheville as well as our gorgeous & famous Pack Square Park. You will be able to choose from a variety of offerings including yoga classes, meditation, talks, hikes, and more. The pedestrian friendly festival will allow you to immerse yourself in the vibrant life of a city brimming with cultural arts, culinary delights, and many independent shops.
