For the entire month of May, we’re raising money for Friends of Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Friends of DuPont Forest with our campaign “Pints for Pines.”
Here’s how it works:
All month long, visit either (or both!) of our taprooms in Asheville and Brevard to make an in-person donation to be displayed on the wall!
On Thursdays in May, we’re hosting Pint Nights to benefit both organizations! Visit either of our taprooms from 5PM-8PM. Buy any UpCountry house brewed beer and we’ll donate a percentage of sales to Friends of the Smokies and Friends of DuPont Forest.
For an additional dollar, keep a limited edition Pints for Pines glass!
We’re so excited to fundraise for two incredible nonprofits that help protect the beautiful regions where we live and play. We hope you’ll take part!

THIS MONTH’S PAIRING: Sondheim and Sangria
In the spirit of progress and innovation from the beginning of the 20th century, contemporary music pushed boundaries and performance venues. Reflecting the variety of surrealism, pop art, and abstract expressionism in visual art, music branched out with the birth of jazz, Yiddish theater, vaudeville, and Broadway. Join us for tapping feet and jazz hands!

We heard your enthusiastic feedback about our first workshop with John Van Arnham, founder of The Third Talk Foundation. Now, he returns for a second edition of TheThird Talk. All parents and teens 13+ are invited. Whether you attended the first workshop or this is your first time attending, there will be useful information and discussions for all, including an adults-only segment for parents to air themes without youth present. RSVP using link in event.
This is a free prevention based presentation. The mission of The Third Talk™ is to initiate a conversation between parents and their children regarding online adult content exposure, and to provide practical, real world language and solutions.
This can be a scary topic for parents to think about much less discuss. However we as parents need to put our own fears aside and address it openly, because this content is available for all of our children on every device and social media platform they see. We can no longer hope or expect that they will not see this content, or that our children will properly manage their own exposure, or remain unaffected by viewing adult content. We have tried for 20 years to remove it, restrict it, filter it or shake our fists at the problem, however the most effective action has been proven to be open honest family communication about it.
Thursday, May 23 | 5:30-7:00 pm
Open to Parents & Children Ages 13+

Isis Music Hall kicks off the summer season with free outdoor concerts in West Asheville every Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
Concerts on the Isis Music Hall lawn bring the community center stage for evenings filled with free music and fun festivities throughout the summer from 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
“It’s just going to be a great vibe for the community and welcoming for our visitors,”” said Lillianna Woody, Isis Music Hall owner. “It’s the perfect way to unwind from the day full of responsibilities and just have fun.”
From bluegrass to blues, jazz and a few surprises in between, the summer series brings an array of local acts to the stage to satisfy nearly any song-filled soul.
“It’s really refreshing for me as a musician to be able to play in a family-friendly environment,” said breakout artist Whitney Moore, of Queen Bee & The Honeylovers. “I love the laid back community vibe of it and that people can stroll down Haywood and just happen by some great live music. It’s also early in the evening which gives families a great opportunity to see live music.”
Cold brews, food, wine and cocktails are available for purchase. Come, kick off your heels and relax on the patio or spread out a blanket and hang out on the lawn to enjoy free music for the evening.
No reservations needed, just stop by and enjoy! Weather permitting, of course. Alcohol is permitted on the lawn, but must be purchased from Isis Music Hall.

Odd’s Cafe is located at 800 Haywood Road in Asheville; no cover.
In June, Owen will sing at the Sentient Bean in Savannah, Georgia. The Grey Eagle
Asheville, NC
All Ages
Tickets: $17adv / $20dos
American singer-songwriter Thad Cockrell (also lead singer of LEAGUES) lives out the idea of “dream outside your means” and in turn inspires his audience to do the same through thoughtful interpretation of relatable circumstance. Cockrell naturally displays himself within each of his musical masterpieces, connecting listeners and providing an outlet for self-understanding.
“I truly believe that the song is just the tool given to create the connection, and through connection we all slowly but surely become a little more seen, a little bit more understood
and a little less alone.”
