Grey Eagle

Whether with his backing band, The Fustics, or performing as an acoustic artist, Brad Heller has established himself as a credible force among current songwriters. Honing his craft for over a decade and a half the Wilmington, North Carolina, transplant has built a reputation as a thoughtful songsmith who tackles a wide range of personal and social issues. Bouncing between a myriad of genres, Heller finds creative drive in honoring musical influences that inspired him, while never abandoning his own unique sound.

PATIO SHOW: Brad Heller and The Fustics

With the 2019 release of his new album, The Sentence, Heller continues to build his audience with constant touring and spirited live shows. Heller’s latest effort centers on middle-class characters while exploring themes of loss, self-imposed alienation, abandonment of faith, addiction, and immigration. Voted Wilmington’s “Best Original Rock Band,” Brad Heller and the Fustics will be hitting the road in full force in the new year and beyond.

“…the sound of Heller and company is hard to pin down…A natural storyteller…complete with mellow acoustic rhythms and cutting electric riffs…likens his songwriting to that of Kentucky’s Chris Knight.” – Charleston City Paper

“They make honest to god rock and roll…at times sounding like The Jayhawks or even bigger bands like The Wallflowers…dramatic in the same way Van Morrison or Led Zeppelin can be in their quietest moment.” – Southeast Performer

“…taking the legacy of Redheaded Stranger, Nebraska, Blood on the Tracks, and Son Volt’s Trace in their own hands and hearts.” – Grayson Currin, Independent Weekly

The Salvage Station is Now Open!
Aug 28 @ 12:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Salvage Station

We are open with new rules and safety measures!

Founded in 2016, Salvage Station is Asheville, NC’s favorite riverfront bar, restaurant, concert hall, and special events venue located in the historic River Arts District along the French Broad River. From music shows and festivals, to community and private events, Salvage Station is an excellent place to hang out and have a truly great Asheville experience.

Less than one half mile from downtown, you can find the most spacious and safe place to social distance outside while enjoying refreshing adult beverages and delicious Creole and Southern soul food from Root Down Kitchen.

In an effort to keep our beloved patrons safe (and our doors open), our staff will have their temperatures checked before each shift, they will wear face masks at all times while at work, and will sanitize their hands and work areas often. You can also feel safe knowing that all employees have completed their Count On Me certification.

We also have new rules in place that we require our patrons to adhere to.

*Face masks required at all times unless seated at your table.

*Parties of 6 or fewer only.

*Ages 21+ only (this is temporary and we hope to allow all ages in again very soon).

*Social Distance! Stay 6 feet apart while standing in line and use our hand sanitizing stations often.

*Do not move any furniture under any circumstances. We have strategically placed our tables in a way that we can safely social distance our guests.

Let’s have fun and stay safe!

Rabbit Rabbit Grand Opening
Aug 28 @ 3:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Rabbit Rabbit

DUE TO COVID, ALL GUESTS AT RABBIT RABBIT MUST HAVE A RESERVATION TO ENTER.

Once upon a time, two scrappy and creative local businesses who loved to think outside the box came together to bring something new to the Downtown they both loved.  The result:  Rabbit Rabbit AVL.  Why the name? “Rabbit Rabbit” is a long-standing superstition that has been around for generations, something you say to bring yourself good luck.  The story goes that if the very first words you utter on the first day of each new month are “Rabbit Rabbit!”, you’ll have good luck all month long.

Orange Peel Events and Asheville Brewing Company consider our partnership on this new project, on a needle-in-the-hay piece of property right in the middle of our beloved downtown, the ultimate stroke of good luck.  For us, for our customers and fans, and for Asheville.

Sure, rabbits are “little guys”, but they are also quick, responsive, productive, and willing to take big leaps.  That’s how we see our two little companies within the greater downtown landscape.  This amazing new event space represents the coming together of both of us: not just one lucky Rabbit, but two.

Rabbit Rabbit. It’s where the magic happens. Make your own luck with us.
